I have been in job interviews and later realised I gave a stupid answer to a question I should have handled better.
I read about a bloke who, when under pressure in a tough interview, was asked 'What are your weaknesses?'. His reply was 'fat girls and processed meat products'.
Have you ever given a similarly hilarious answer in an interview ?
I doubt it, that one's the best ever.

As an interviewer, here is the worst I heard:

Q: "Tell me about a time when you got into a disagreement with a co-worker, how did you resolve it?"

A: Stabbed him with a screwdriver.

And, he wasn't joking!

LOL@ the screwdriver!

I went threw a long and drawn out interview process with Toyota. By the 2nd month, after the interviews, tests, etc., I had yet another interview with a GM.

He asked me "Why should we hire you?"

I honestly replied "After going through this long and drawn out interview process, I have come to see how disorganized you are. On top of that, your pay is horrendous for a Senior Engineer and your benefits are horrible. Why should I work for you?"

I was offered the job the next day. I didn't take it; I meant everything that I said.

I had the question what would you do if you were in the office and you ran out of toilet paper? I was so dumbfounded, as this was supposed to be a typical interview question. (I had never been asked this before.) I said looking for paper towels. FYI they are looking for someone who says I would stop and purchase some keep my receipt and be reimbursed. Falls along the line if you were stranded on a deserted island what would you take with you? Answer a boat,

That is so funny - next time I go for an interview, I will definitely use that line - well, not the fat girls one but something like, shopping and puppies or something instead of racking my brains for some cr*p politically correct answer!

well once I was stuck on a Q.he went and left me to think about it!I got the job, they must have been desperate!
I had a phone interview once,it was hard even though I had got all the Qs from someone who had done it before, and I said tennis was a team work example, dont think that was what they wanted.

I regard being off topic as the worst answer in an interview

Interviews are not the time to respond with funny answers. Let your guide be the interviewer, not you. This way you can avoid giving an answer that shows lack of consideration, immaturity or inexperience.

The hardest question to prepare for is "What are your salary requirements"?

I know someone who said this when he was asked if he had any questions. He wanted to know if it was okay to leave if he didn't like the job? Now thats really going to instill them with confidence. Not!!

:-)))

That's outstanding!
One of the better ones I've heard:
"Sorry I was late, I had to perform an exorcism on my wife."
Yeah, let me just write up the job offer this minute...uh huh....
