Is it legal for a company to establish mandatory bathroom breaks? Meaning employees are only allowed to use the bathrooms at certain times (i.e. 1 hour in the morning, 1 hour in the afternoon) and will not be permitted to use the bathrooms outside those established times?

My wife runs a small hairdressing salon and for the past couple of weeks she has had a work experience girl helping her out. This girl is keen, shows initiative, is never late, and when there, she works hard. She loves working in the salon and would like to take up hairdressing as a career. My wife would like to take her on as a full time apprentice but sadly, the salon only has a modest turnover and this would only be possible with some sort of government assistance with the training costs. Are such schemes available? It would be a shame lose such a good girl.

Is this true? I read in a book yesterday that there are hiring managers who base a candidate’s probability of getting a cash-handling job, such as cashier, by their credit score. The book stated that it is unlikely that someone would be placed in that position, with a drawer full of 20's let say, who had a lot of bills. I couldn't believe this when I read it. Is this true?

We had a huge snow storm yesterday and it's still snowing today. Yesterday my boss calls and tells me and the other worker in this office to decide who goes home and I decided to stay. For hours I did nothing but sit there and play on the computor while the whole rest ofthe state shut down. Now again todaythewhole town is shut down and I'm still here.

I would like to become a team driver with my husband, we have driven all over the darn place in my car, and the career is very much making us both seriously consider it. We like to drive, we have no problem being on the road alot, we don't have many family commitments, and we want to become owner operators in the end, BUT, we wanted to hear from people doing it to find out if all the things we have been told is true.

A) We know Owner Operator is costly, but we are still leaning toward it for many reasons.

B) We are being told the average is 40k a year for a driver, is this true?

C) Is their anything we really need to be aware of that we are not. We are aware of long hours, many driving hours, being cramped up in the truck together, and so forth, is their something else we need to be aware of before we pay for school?
