Is it realistic, or is it just simplistic imported American psychobabble and things would be much better if each person just got on with their own job and did it well rather than "mucking in" ie looking for an excuse to anything other than what they are supposed to be doing? I know what I think, what about you?

the company i work for uses a point system,if you reach 5 points your terminated.here is the catch ive noticed that their is a select few that have had or still have over 5 points but still have a job.example my friend was fired for points, but his co worker that had the same amount wasnt fired so my question is would this fall under discrimination.what could be done to put a stop to this because the point system seem to be used as an excuse to get rid of you if they dont like you.this is in jackson TN

I have done a lot of writing over the past several years and have been told by several people who would have the knowledge and the experience that I should submit pieces to various magazines. I am in a position to try doing so now, but have no idea what to do or how to go about it. Any suggestions??

I am an assistant manager at a local resturaunt, and I just started the job anew. I have managed resturaunts before, but have never had to deal with such a birage of teenagers. I am 36, and quite frankly, they seem like spoiled, smart mouthed brats. What can I do besides remember that I was that age once? Believe me, I was never like that as many of us at my age weren't.

Ever since I was little there was always something I wanted to be...a teacher, a marine biologist, a fire fighter, a nurse. My husband says that he has no desire to be anything. He says his goal in life is to be retired so he can do anything he wants all day...like work on cars. He says he likes to buy stuff, like cars and trailers. When we were first married, he said something about working for the Boy Scout Office. Am I the only one that thinks my hubands needs to grow up? I feel like he's being irresponsible. He has had 5 different jobs in our 5 years of marriage. Is there some sort of financial or career counselor we can go to to get advice?

My Master's is in sociology, sociology is different from social work and I cannot be a licensed social worker, but anyway, I feel that due to my mental health doing social/human service work is bad for me. I suffer from generalized anxiety disorder and sometimes it effects my job. I graduated in May and got my first professional job in December and got fired in February because I wasn't measuring up. I think I totally picked the wrong field, I cannot afford to get another degree yet nobody will hire me. Please Help!

My interests are very diverse. I LOVE cooking, reading, writing, photography, foreign languages, exercising, and travel. I enjoy all equally but when I'm working on one I feel I have to make time for the other. Most folks have one maybe two hobbies that sort of relate to the other but mine don't. And if I do find something I'm intersted in I try to find out all I can about it. I research it and before you know it I have another interest. Is this a good thing to do? I don't want to spread myself too thin but I feel I was born with a natural curiosity about everything. Not sure if I'm making sense but does anyone have any advice? Thanks.
