Get a notebook and keep everything documented. All of you. There is a law against creating a hostile work environment. Is she having personal or work problems? If you have a employee assistance program talk to them. If not go to the personnel dept and tell them you need to start a grievance based on creating a hostile work environment-take a list of other employees not afraid to talk.

Wow, I've had some of those.....Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot you CAN do. The BEST thing would be to leave the department or company because people like that usually don't change. Try to talk to HER supervisor, when you do don't "bad-mouth" her, just say you are very intimidated by her and it is hard for you to work like that. It may accomplish nothing, but if others do that as well, something may be done.

It's often helpful to try to drown people like that in emails and paper. Each morning ask her exactly what she wants done, then at the end of the day send an email to her saying PER YOUR INSTRUCTIONS. I did X, Y and Z. It covers your ***.

Good luck, I feel for you!

If her title is "supervisor", that means she also has one. Before you go to hers, what you do is write down everything she says as well as the date, time and anyone else within ear shot. Then after one month, you take it to her supervisor and show them. Just do this in a mature, non-judgemental way. If you go in behaving childishly and pointing fingers then you get punished, not her.

Go over her head.

She has to report to someone, doesn't she?

If you tell her superior that you are being subjected to inappropriate behaviors that are affecting your ability to be a good employee, I am quite sure she will be reprimanded and maybe she'll grow up a little bit.
