We had a huge snow storm yesterday and it's still snowing today. Yesterday my boss calls and tells me and the other worker in this office to decide who goes home and I decided to stay. For hours I did nothing but sit there and play on the computor while the whole rest ofthe state shut down. Now again todaythewhole town is shut down and I'm still here.

They pay you and you have nothing to do? And, you're bitching, why? Can't you find a project that will make life easier for everyone in the future? Update the speed dial? learn how to operate some equipment more efficiently? clean up some files? There must be something useful to do or I would be worrying about my job after the snow left.

Typically when asking yourself this question you may want to think about why you are even with this company. If you do not feel like being there, then just leave. It might possibly be a pay off if you just indulged in your day at work like throwing snowballs at your favorite co-worker.

So your choices are to sit on one side of the street, do nothing, and receive no compensation, or cross the street, do nothing, and get paid for it.

Gee, that's a tough one. Not sure what I would do in a case like that.
