Someone new started at my work 2 months back and is meant to be more senior to me but does the same job. He is very disorganised, takes at least an hours lunch hour and then proceeds to eat his sandwich at the desk for at least another 20 mins. Also smells strongly of alcohol after lunch most days but doesn't appear drunk. I wouldn't really be that bothered but he is working late every night due to not being organised and moans loudly about this in front of the boss every day, making it look bad on me that I am able to leave on time most nights at the moment. My workload is much heavier and my colleagues feel that this person is trying to create some kind of competition with me by making out to the boss and anyone else that will listen that he is really hard done by and has too much work to do when I have MUCH more to do . I'm getting really annoyed and it's very difficult as we are a very small office and I don't want to leave but I also feel I can't say anything ?

I'm a phlebotomist at a hospital, and every single day since I started, I always get stuck with a stack of work requests right before my shift ends. When I try as hard as I can to get through them, the lab constantly pages me to go here, there, EVERYWHERE on top of the stack of orders. Please give me some good suggestions as to how I can politically correctly do just so much until maybe 15 minutes prior to the shift change so I can do the things I need to in order to wrap up and get out on time. By the way, several women in the back of the lab really enjoy watching me run my butt off at the last minute while they scream their orders at me. How can I put them in their place????

I am a 17-year-old. Last year I started my first job working in fast food. Since then, I have learned skills such as maintaining a buffet, being able to get along with customers (even the uptight ones), being able to prepare orders, and work a cash register. I have been a good employee and have hardly missed any work. The days that I have been sick I gave eight hours notice that I wouldn't be able to come in. I have never been written up.

Now I feel that it's time for me to move on and find another job. I'm looking for a job that will help prepare me with office skills. My future careers are print journalism and ESL teaching. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Also, I would be interested in a catering job. Where could I look?

I want to take classes for an associate degree, but would like to take them all online. I work fulltime and if I take them online the degree could be completed sooner than expected. Drafting and graphic design did not look very good in todays job market. Any suggestions?

Do you see those efforts in operation around where you work? What might you think your managers have done or could do better to improve the use and productivity through the introduction of improved technology?

I have a background in Real estate lending, residential wholesale and retail but am considering a move to the commercial side as an appraiser. I am currently located in Chicago which I feel is about the best place I could be for this line of work.

Does anyone know what I have to do as far as mentoring, internship, etc? I know I have to take classes and such, but from what I have read it seems I must also "shadow" a licensed appraiser or become an assistant to one for a certain amount of time before I can get a license.

Also, does anyone know what to expect as far as salary and or commission for this position? Would I work for a firm and get assigned jobs, or would I be looking for my own work?

Any help is appreciated

I love my job and am not planning on quitting anytime soon. I make amazing tips and great pay. It's really getting on my nerves how some customers always ask, Is this what you plan on doing forever? Or do you go to school? I love my job, but I'm starting to detest the customers who tell me how to live my life. Are they right? What should I do?

English writing tutor rate in NYC?
Question Details:

I'm a college student who got an offer to tutor two girls - 4th grader& 6th grader.

I will be tutoring 2 hours for each girl for 3 days a week so the total hours will be 12 hours. It means 6 hours for each one in a weekly basis.

Their parents asked me how much I would charge, so I said about $90 a day but they said it sound too much.

What is a fair rate to charge them?
It is about an hour ride to get to their place.
And I had experiences tutoring English before.

I went to an open call at a seemingly legit agency last night. This is an agency NOT a school. My goal was to get into print/commerical modeling and promos. Modeling is not a dream of mine, but rather something fun to do. The woman called me back today and congratulated me on the fact that they are choosing to work with me. Here's what I have to pay up front before the actual photo shoot takes place and it is in a few days:
Messenger fee (for postage and fed ex costs) - $95.00
Photo shoot fee - $550.00
Composite Card fee - $195.00
Web site fee - $385.00
Orientation meeting fee - $60.00
There are other fees for workshops ($560.00) but it does not say that these are manditory but who knows. I have my definate opinions on these fees but I will hold off on sharing them as I would like to your get your input without influencing your opinions with my own. I'm about 99.9 percent sure as to what I'm going to do but want your opinions.
Feedback,please. Thanks.

Does anyone know of any schools in MA (Boston area). I have no college. ( I only have some-- certified phlebotomist) thats about all the experience I have in the medical field. I really would love to be involved in births. Do I need to become a nurse first? I heard I didn't have to. I'm sure it would make for a more successful midwife... but i'm not sure if I can pass the courses to become a nurse. Its been a loong time since I've been in school and I failed miserably in math and science in highschool.

Its a finance job.

I can't say public speaking because the job requires strong communication skill so i think its a bad idea.
I can't say i work too much it sound like i'm running from question.
should i say sales skill since the job doesn't require sales.

How does this sound my weakness is that I don't have good sales skill but with my previous jobs I have over come this weakness didn’t do well at first but kept trying until I did, and by practicing my sales skill with people I know I have improved.
