i got it to £8.173
this is how i did it --
17000 divided by 52 (weeks in a year) =326.92307
i took the 326.92 from this and divived it by 40 (usual working hours per week) = 8.173
so it equates to £8.17p per hour so times this by how many hours u will do and uv got ur weekly pay before deductions.
ok? hope this helps. x

a x 17000 pounds=y
a=hours u work, y= the money u earn
then y x c=b
c=tax, b=tax amount
b+y=the amount of money u recieve in total.
do u mean tax u RECIEVE or tax u must GIVE? the above is to RECIEVE but if u need 2 GIVE just subtract b instead of adding it. [last step].
i kno it looks confusing, but once u put in the actual money amounts, it is much easier and very simple.

Approximately 23% of your wages is "lost" to tax and national insurance.
The rest you can work out for yourself as you haven't given how many hours you will be doing pro rata.

Work it out yourself, seeing as you've given all the nice peoples responses a thumbs down! LOL
Not sure mate, guess it depends on how many hours a week you work,check your pay slip it must tell you on there somewhere.
