I am a 17-year-old. Last year I started my first job working in fast food. Since then, I have learned skills such as maintaining a buffet, being able to get along with customers (even the uptight ones), being able to prepare orders, and work a cash register. I have been a good employee and have hardly missed any work. The days that I have been sick I gave eight hours notice that I wouldn't be able to come in. I have never been written up.

Now I feel that it's time for me to move on and find another job. I'm looking for a job that will help prepare me with office skills. My future careers are print journalism and ESL teaching. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Also, I would be interested in a catering job. Where could I look?

Check out Craigslist.org Make sure you click on your closest city and then browse the job ads. Try the office administration or business section. You will find a lot of small company employers looking for part time help in receptionist positions. It is a great place to start building experience.
