I'm leaving my current company soon.. I'd like to maintain a good relationship with my bosses / colleagues and do not wish to burn bridges.

How best can I write in a thank you - farewell email to both my bosses and fellow colleagues? I'd like to extend my deepest appreciation to them for the help and guidance given to me during my stay in the company.

Please help me out here.. Thanks very much!

And no people skills he just barks orders and is looking for yesmen. I'm not a yes man . When asked why they were takeing away a weeks vacation he scooted to the front of his chair staring me in the eye the entire time and said atleast you still have a job. I work for a very small company and have started looking for a job. My boss once asked me to let her know if I do start looking around so she won't be blindsided. It may take a while to train a replacement.

Should I do it?

I have an Associates Degree in Film. I've been working in my field a little, but not as often as I'd like. I'm not able to move to LA where most of the Film Jobs are. I have a Wife and a Future family that I have to support and my current job as a Fim Projectionist Supervisor isn't working for me anymore. What kind of Jobs could I apply for that offer benefits and pay at least $10-$12 an hour? I've already applied to Marketing and Sales Jobs, as well as Cutomer Service/Call Center places. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I was wondering if anyone else my age has this problem. I am 17 about to turn 18 and I live in London. I attend college full time and am looking for weekend work. I have been searching for a job fo up to 2 years and I have not got one. I check the job centre website every day, I go on other job websites once a week going though all of the jobs that they have on the sites regularly spending up to 3-4 hours at a time, going through and applying for all of them. I go up and down my streets looking for vacancy signs in the windows and quickly doing application forms. I also hand in my CV into shops that arent even looking for jobs. I have been doing this for 2 years and I have not received a job. In total I have applied probably 4 up 2 10,000 jobs (not lying) and I have only been offered 3 interviews. I have not gotten any of them. I was wondering if anyone else my age has a job and give me tips on how to get one. Don't tell me frends and family believe me i've tried

I have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction/ Education with a 4.0 GPA from an accredited university. I also have a bachelors in Education and experience as a teacher and teacher trainer in public schools. I am looking to for other career opportunities outside of the public schools. I could get my educational leadership degree and go into administration, however, I'm not really interested in this avenue. I could also work on my PhD in education and become a professor or work in developing standardized tets or measuring devices for such tests. What could I do in the business field? What else could I do? What should I do? How much time, effort, and money will this take? Any ideas?
Details: I currently have two young children. I'm in my late twenties. I live in Flordia. I am married and it would be difficult to move somewhere in another state due to his job, but not impossible.

I know a moderate amount of Microsoft Word, a little of Excel and now ( for a new job, I will be starting soon) I need to learn FileMaker. I am afraid that at the minimum the prerequisite for "FileMaker" would be to be proficient in Word and Excel.
Not sure which would be the best route to take.....buying the software program and trying to teach myself at home....try to find a place that offers the course locally (although the timing for when these classes start may be off for me).....find a tutor ( don't know where to start with that)....????
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Cindy

I am in a tricky situation. I am the accountant/assistant to the president for a small company. i was told by another employee that he would be resigning in a week or so. My boss expects me to let him know what is going on here since he is not around much(he does outside sales). My moral dilemma is do i tell my boss? The employee that is leaving plays a vital part in the company and when he leaves, a lot of the workload will shift over to me. I already have plenty of work. If I tell my boss, what if he confronts the employee? What if he just fires him after he finds out? If I don't tell him, he will ask me if I knew which may harm my chances of being promoted into spot of the employee who is quitting. Then I ask myself if this is a setup from the quitting employee to see if I will tell my boss. Although he seems really serious. My loyalty is supposed to be to the company and the company's best interests. Can you all just let me know what you would do? Thanks in advance..

I've always been told that in addition to answering questions at a job interview, you should be prepared to ask your own questions at the interveiw as well. Later in the week, I am interviewing for a professional position at a large hospital. I anticipate questions about my experience and desire to work at the facility, but what questions should I be prepared to ask the interviewer?

I don't know what to wear! I am interviewing for an HR position in a professional services firm, so you would automatically think that I should wear a suit, right?

However, I already work for the company in a different position so it is only an internal interview. We have a very casual dress code - e.g. we can wear jeans every day - and I take full advantage of this. I don't particularly want all my colleagues to know that I am interviewing for a new position, and they will be extremely suspicious if I rock up wearing a suit after wearing jeans every other working day of my life.

So, do you think somewhere in the middle would be appropriate? Like not a suit, but not jeans either? Maybe nice trousers and a nice top?

What do you do if your boss is having a mental breakdown? He's been super depressed lately and taking lots of "mental holidays." He's also asking for extended time off. (He's a lawyer, btw, and I'm his assistant.) Anyone ever experienced this? Any advice? Thanks!
