I was wondering if anyone else my age has this problem. I am 17 about to turn 18 and I live in London. I attend college full time and am looking for weekend work. I have been searching for a job fo up to 2 years and I have not got one. I check the job centre website every day, I go on other job websites once a week going though all of the jobs that they have on the sites regularly spending up to 3-4 hours at a time, going through and applying for all of them. I go up and down my streets looking for vacancy signs in the windows and quickly doing application forms. I also hand in my CV into shops that arent even looking for jobs. I have been doing this for 2 years and I have not received a job. In total I have applied probably 4 up 2 10,000 jobs (not lying) and I have only been offered 3 interviews. I have not gotten any of them. I was wondering if anyone else my age has a job and give me tips on how to get one. Don't tell me frends and family believe me i've tried

With that track record, you have to ask yourself what you're doing wrong. What's your personal appearance like? (Although employers aren't supposed to discriminate based on appearance, reality is that they often do.) Are you clean, well groomed, etc.? Are you dressed professionally when you go in to apply? Are you bringing your mother/best friend/dog with you on your job hunt?

You may find it humourous, but honest to God I've have applicants show up for interviews with their children in tow, or wearing outfits that should never have seen the light of day, or filling out an application (with my pen, cause they forgot theirs) with fingernails that look like they just came from the car repair bay.

Ask a trusted friend or family member why they think you haven't been hired, and listen to what they have to say.
