I offered to take the plantmanagers job where I work ( I have 30 plus years experience) the owners sent in a man with no experience in our field. And no people skills he just barks orders and is looking for yesmen. I'm not a yes man . When asked why they were takeing away a weeks vacation he scooted to the front of his chair staring me in the eye the entire time and said atleast you still have a job. Do I have any recourse or do I throw away 30 years and move on??? Anyone care to coment if so thankyou

It depends on your job. Do you have a union or union representation? I'm thinking the answer to that is no since they did away with vacations. If you have marketable skills and there are other companies in the area you can go to, you might want to make discreet inquiries as to open positions. If you are nearing retirement age, unfortunately, sometimes these people are brought in to get people to quit who are good workers but higher in pay so they can bring in rookies they don't have to pay as much. It depends on what you can live with. If you are in an 'at will' state, your employer can fire you 'at will.' Check on that too. Otherwise, let the quality of your work stand for itself. Tough situation to be in-I've been there and ultimately changed careers because of it.

Sounds like they needed to hire a jerk, and that's what they got. You probably didn't get one because you're not enough of a jerk.
