I am seeking a job as a graphic designer ( I'm still a student though) and have no work experience in my field yet. I don't know what I should put under experience in my resume because I don't have any. I'm afraid if I leave it out my resume will look too empty; with only my education, contact and skills info...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My reason for leaving was due to a "crazy" - co worker. He was not a team player and lack many communication and personal skills. It was an unhealthy work enviroment for me and I had to leave.

Any suggestions on avoiding or alternative discriptions?

I just accepeted a job, but the job I really want may come up before I start the other job. Is it totally rude to turn it down after I have accepted it already? I was just wondering because I don't want to hurt my reputation.

after reading the yahoo article and spending months worrying over who, what and where my career is going, I have not been fired, but have been stripped of all my duties (the reason originally was so that I could free myself up to help "run" the company) Now I'm just sitting here, collecting a paycheck and not doing much for the company at all. There is no hostility around me, but should I just go to my boss and say "do you want me to leave or stay?" "Give me something to do." or stay put and collect the paycheck that feeds my family.

I am trying to just get peoples opinions on what I should do. I am a bit of an artist and do these unique one of a kind Mardi Gras/mask/new orleans pieces of artwork. Each piece is time consuming, roughly about 5-6 hours a day for basically a week. I have given out a few as presents in the hopes of getting my stuff out there. I have a collection in my bedroom that is for me to hang on to and figure out what to do with them.

Here is my question. If I had a good friend leave me a voicemail saying someone was willing to pay me good money to do a custom piece for them, should I do it? I understand I'll get money, sure, BUT at the expense of my time being used (it would cause me to be a little careless at work, classes,sleep)... should I still say I should do it?

Say you have 2 offers from different companies and u finally decide for one. How do you say no thank you to the other one in a very professional way to avoid having a bad impression the next time you apply for that same company?

It used to be that people worked for the same company their entire lives. Now, it is more common to change jobs and even careers. If someone changes jobs every couple of years or so, is that a bad thing? If so, how long should someone "stick it out" before it is okay to move on to the next challenge?

I'm at a crossroads and would benefit from some feedback.

Here's the background:

I got an English degree, and then went to law school. I've been a practicing lawyer for just under two years now. I'm not happy being a lawyer, for several different reasons.

I'd like to change careers, but I'm stumped by the seeming lack of options that drove me to law school in the first place.

I love to write. I love to edit other peoples' writing. I don't like salesmanship. I like working independently, but I also *love* good office camaraderie. I don't want to go back to school.

Thanks in advance for help. Lawyer jokes greatly appreciated!

i work at a large monopoly retail corporation. I have been wanting to become a supervisor, but my supervisor said that I can't because i'm not available 24/7, 7 days a week ( I have school TWO days a week, and i'm available ALL the other days any time.) I dont think it's fair. The store manager even said he wanted me to supervise, but my supervisor "c" keeps denying me the right. Instead, she put two other girls as supervisors who don't even know my position. She's training them from scratch and I've been there for a year, they've been there much less. What's wrong with me?
