Do you work in Clinton's by any chance?!?! lol
When i used to work there we had a sound system that head office sent different songs to every 6 months. I think if I heard Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline again I'd flip!
Lucky I work in an office now where heart or capital is on. But to be honest they're always playing the same songs but at least they're a bit more up to date!

I am one of those people that loves to work.
Unbeknown to many I also love music.
However the combination I find rather disruptive and difficult to handle at the same time. Perhaps in an office situation but not in most other environments. I work in the retail type and I find it rather annoying to have to listen to what someone else likes and they like to play it rather loud as well.
This is not proper and we are not allowed to bring our own, like an IPOD or anything.
To answer your question I really think it depends on the work environment.
To that end, You decide. !

yes and no! if its a bunch of kids istening to repetitive noisey dance music then no. if its radio one or one of the comercial stations applicable to everyones tastes then yes. i used to work in a cash and carry, from november to christmas eve i was barraged by piped christmas singles to get the shop keepers to stock up on xmas junk. it was hell.

To do well in jobs you have to endure more hardship then a radio being not to your taste.

I think music may please a person or it may annoy them. But silence, while not pleasing, is certainly not annoying. Then too, each person can play music quietly, THEIR music, in their personal work space.
