Monday the 12, I fell from a ladder and broke my collar bone.The doctor say 4-8 weeks until it heals. I have a family that depends on me, is there any financial assistance available for me. I live in Alabama.

Since you're being paid in cash you're an independent contractor rather than an employee. You weren't just being paid in cash to avoid taxes were you? Well, I guess you've just seen the downside to that arrangement because as an independent contractor you don't qualify for workman's compensation. If you'd been paid as an employee you'd be covered.

Your job pays cash? Perhaps you should consider going back to Guatemala, it is cheaper to live there.

if you are being paid "under the table" I don't think there is anything that you can do....I am sorry.....good luck
