My son will be 14 in May. I'm wondering if there are any suggestions for part time jobs in the summer that he would be able to apply for at his age, or does he have to wait until he's 16? We live in Ct. Thank you so much!

in Ohio they allow you to work at the Dairy Queen at 14...this was my daughter's first job and she loved it and made some nice money to save up....they are only allowed to work a child so many hours, at this age however, and they can not work past a certain time, in the evening...but this would be a good start...best wishes to you

A newspaper route. That is what I did at 14. I could ride my bike and attached the bag to the front of my bike. It was really convenient and I could do this after school. Also check ice cream stores, and Putt Putt golfing places. Also try fast food restaurants. They also hire young. McDonald's especially. Around my area they hire around 14. I have from PA. Anyways, I hope this helps. Good luck.

ok i live in FL, so HOPEFULLY some of this will apply to you.

Publix (gorcery store) hires baggers at age of 14.

camp couselors and junior couselors can range from the age of 14 and up.

and I believe thats all I got for you. sorry. if you want your child to participate and keep busy over the summer break, try volunteering, camping, joining a team, or join clubs. that should keep him busy over the break.

good luck!

i think Camp counselor would be fun for a 14 year old,
or work in the snack shack at the pool,
work at the movie theater

choose something that also is fun for him. he is only 14 and soon enough childhood will be over anyway plus school is more intense and they need a mental break.............Enjoy the summer work while having some fun!
