In offices, they are often taking off time for personal activities with their children, or working at home. They often seem to cover for each other--backing each other up in workplace conflicts, granting each other unique privileges.

Has this been your experience? On the average, do working mothers help or hurt the workplace?

I have been a nurse in a childrens hospital for the past 3 years. I am starting to get my MBA this spring and will be done by Aug 2008. Any ideas on where I should look for jobs? I have heard about a ton of opportunities but I have not seen job postings ect. Just worried I am doing all this work for nothing.

I had the most interesting set of phone calls this week here in Richmond and Glen Allen, Virginia where job recruiters asked not only about my personal life, but about marriage...

I thought these questions were illegal...

What is the white people afraid of? When black people are not working they are seen as being lazy. When a white person who has no qualifications has no job s/he is not seen as lazy. Many times a friend of mine who has qualifications for most areas of jobs, always gets shotlisted for interviews because her applications 'stands out from the rest' she was told. However, when it is discovered that she is black she is told she didn' t get the job or she will be told that the money advertised was a mistake and that she can have the job but with less payment than advertised. this has happened quite a lot. What is going on? If some white people continue to do this and yet denies it. What does that makes them? Most black people when working does the job so well and not given the credit for it.The work done is often more than 100 percent input to be accepted as standard. The white bullies create a situation which is inbuilt to discriminate blacks and yet blames blacks for it.

4 weeks ago I made the stupid mistake of driving on a Sunday morning after heavy session of drinking the night before. I thought all of the alcohol would have been out of my system but I didn't finish drinking until 3am and I slept and then drove home at around 9am so it was very dumb. I was breathalysed and subsequently banned for 15 months. It was my 1st offence.

I have worked hard for a good career and have a BA(Hons) and an MBA and was due for an final interview for a consultancy position at a big 4 firm. I have had to postpone it but i can go in at the same stage at a later date and my current employer (a blue chip) has been excellent about it and allowed me to keep my job. I am 28 and the conviction won't be 'unspent' for 5 years so i will have to declare it until then and can't hire a car.

I am just wondering what Big 4 employers, e.g. Accenture, CapGemini, Ernst & Young etc think of a conviction like this and whether it would mean I am ineligible for employment with them

After being on probation during my teenage years, I realized how stupid I was and finally snapped back into reality. Now I am going to be a college student and I plan to major in pre-med and become a very successful doctor. However, I am extremely afraid that my "TEENAGE REBELLIOUS DUMB DAYS" will haunt me back once again in the near future. Will it or will it not?
