I am quite deaf, but I have never told my employer or any previous employers. It's not apparent because I get by through lip-reading if I'm speaking to someone in person, or if I'm speaking to someone over the phone then people tend to speak more clearly and there is less background noise. This means that I am perfectly able to do my job and no-one becomes aware that I'm deaf. I don't wear a hearing aid - I've tried one in the past and it didn't work for me due to the type of hearing loss that I have.

However, what I'm wondering is, would it be advantageous to inform employers of this when I'm applying for jobs? I know that companies are supposed to hire a certain number of disabled people, so should I use this to my advantage? I've always been more worried that it will have more of a negative effect than a positive one, which is why I don't normally tell people, e.g. as my job involves using the phone a lot, they could say that I am not fit to do it.

What would others do?

How do malls work? Do the owners charge stores rent or do they get a profit of the merchandise sold or done? About how much does a average mall owner make a year?

I am a stay at home mum, and am unable to work. My boyfriend is self employed and goes to work any time of day or night, for any amount of time. As i have no-one to babysit, and we dont really have the money for our child to go to nursery i have no choice but to stay at home.
My boyfriend has found a mon - fri 9 -5 job that means i can go to work and bring in a seperate income on the weekends.
the problem is that he needs to be trained for it first, which means he will only get a small wage for the first 8 weeks.
As he will be on a low wage and is the only one working, is their anyway we will be able to get some sort of financal help, as he will be alot out of pocket for those 2 months?
(Please dont say tax credits as apparently we were overpaid last year and everything we recieve they get straight back!)
Any help, or info would be appreached.

I know it seems crazy that I am asking this, but I need career advice.

I enjoy working with children
I love science
I like math.
I especially enjoy Psychology, but don't want to be a psychologist.
In the past I have wanted to be a Pschiatrist.
I want a job that pays well. Maybe even one that requires me to know Spanish.
I really I anxious about my future. I know I love science, but I don't know if I really want to be a scientist.
I am good at keyboarding. I am a speed reader in reading GT.
I can speak Spanish and speak Korean. I am not the most creative person, but I love doing something fun and exciting.
My weaknesses are history, and spelling, and also making speeches in front of LARGE crowds.

Any career like that?

I have taken a aptitude test and it gave me High School Principal through neurosurgeon.

I have just started going to college in Jan. for my Associates in Ecomic Crime (white collar crime, credit card fraud etc. ), so I am a long way off. I would like to work in the legal field. I am not interested in being a correction officer, police or a lawyer though it appeals to me a bit, it is not an option - any other ideas?

Textile graduate seeking job

I've been working from 8-5 for many years and I never was a morning person so I never liked waking up early. I have always wanted to work in the evenings and sleep in during the morning hours. My ideal work schedule would be 3pm-11pm.

Which are the best paying jobs in which I could work those type of hours? My existing job would not allow me that flexibility so I'd have to change jobs.

I would make the same amount of money:

1) Work two hours per night, teaching out of my home (specialized tutoring/lessons in the subjects I love).

2) Leave a job where I have been for 10 years to take another job in the same field. This job has benefits.

I live in a very career driven part of the country, but I'm leaning more towards choice #1 (I'm also a parent of little kids).
