I know why you ask that & I understand why.
I working ir retail for a large amout of years know that the public that any store service's can spot a fake or phoney freak from a mile away at times. I have also known that you must be true & honest to yourself in order to be the same way to others.
Those others can & normaly the Customers (aka) the public besides the people in your family & etc.
Whithout that you might as well not sevice the public.
I have worked retail & I hve seen my fare share of things fake phoney & real& true etc.
As I may have said earlier thus I myself kept it true honest , real in my years in retail & I continue to do so and in the out come or what have you else I have gotten more of the saticfied Customer more then any other.

NO. I've done several retail jobs from 17 to 22 and I will never lie to a customer just to make a sale. I always made my quota and beyond because I never took it personally if a customer was unsatisfied and always treated people exactly the same, "rich or poor" because they received my unconditional respect.
I wasn't a door mat either, I knew when something was way over my head, I would ask the assistant manager or manager, to assist me in serving my customer.
Whenever I take care of people who need my assistance, I mean it... I don't fake it, because I truly care more about the customers needs, wants and don't wants instead of what I can get out of it.
And no... I didn't lower myself to kiss someones *** either, if they were too demanding, I would pass them off to another employee who needs to make their quota.
That is why I always achieved bonuses on my checks and also why my co workers were never jealous of me, because I would throw customers their way.
