This is rediculous, im 16 years old and ive been working at Cool River Pizza for over 8 monthes but yet have never gotten a raise. When i asked about it they had told me that because minimum wage went up, that counts as my raise. This isnt fair is it?

jobs available in salem

I'm a car enthusiast. I'm graduating from college in 6 weeks with a degree in business administration, a minor in accounting, and a minor in computer science. I have 2.5 years experience working for an I.T. department doing PC troubleshooting. I'm not the kind of car enthusiast who fits the greasy-hand, missing teeth, blue collar profile. So I want another way to be around cars - a car dealership. What kind of finance and accounting positions might be a available at a car dealer? Job turnover? Possiblity of openings? Job Security? Salary? Hours? Any information you can give me? I do NOT want to be a salesman.

I work for Mcdonald's Canada. I'm just wandering how many out here are the same. What position do you work as, and are you happy with your job? I'm a kitchen crew myself, so i'm good at making burgers BIG MACs..

One more thing, what benefits do you get as an employee of Mcdonald's? We get 50% discounts for all employee meals, which is not that bad. How about you?

I would love to have somebody share their experiences with Mcdonald's with me, good or bad. Thanks..

My buddy is working a for a huge corporation. The company hires incompetent people who complain about the small work hours, don't do the work and call in sick often. His fellow employees loaf around while he does a large amount of the work. His manager doesn't know what's going on with the job and how productivity is hampered by this. My buddy has to do his job and the others work in order to keep business inventory up to date. The middle management and upper management won't hire other people due to budget reasons and this leaves my friend constantly understaffed and doing two people's jobs. They also turn a deaf ear to my buddies recommendations.
He's a good guy and just wants to work and make his living.
What are some workable suggestions as to get upper management into gear? Write to corporate? What should he say? He's saving money for school and needs the job.

What are some recommendations you would do or have done in past similar experiences?

Thanks!

i have no clue what i want tobe when i am olderr. my mom wants mee to be a nurse, but i would go insane always being around the unwell. i can sing very well, but i realize that that can't really be my job. i am starting highschool next year and am already feeling pressured to know what i want to be. i want a job that makes me feel good, pays well and is ALL of mylife. i know i am really young, but i am getting scared that i will either have a job i hate, or one that barely pays the bills. =(

am I a bad person for wanting to quit EMS because the riskvs. reward is not what it should be.

for instance in the past month I have helped save the lives of a 1y/o child a 97y/o F who couldnt breathe and have transported at leats 50 ppl to pittsburgh and back and for all that I make $8 an hou.

as oppsed to mebecoming a CNA where all I do is change diaper and and can earn 2.50 more an hour.

for the work that EMS professionals do it is a (generally) thankless field. when we get on scene and a women is having chest pains the paramedics do there thing and the EMTs back them up, by the time the pt get to the doctorhe/she is 75% better than they wre and I am stillonly making $8 an hour against a doctor /nurse who just takes my pt but they are earning so much more $$ than any paramedic I know.

anyway back on topic now tat im done ranting does it make me a bad person to want to quit?

I'm a 17 year old Christian girl who is working as a camp counsellour at a christian camp this summer. However, the camp is a non-profit organization that looks to witness to kids and teenagers and asks their staff to volunteer. Unfortunatly many of us can't afford to work all summer for nothing but we still want to devote our summers to serving God and working with kids. I am in this situation. I found my faith at this camp and I want to make a difference in kids lives like my counsellours made in mine. There is a sponsorship program at camp that I intend to make use of. Though I don't really like the idea of asking people for money, my mom has told me I have to make $2000 this summer so I am torn between asking people for money so I can serve God or not asking and staying home. I also don't know where to look for sponsors...can anyone give me any advice for this?

I'm now considering getting a new job.

I've been working at this place for about two weeks, It's a retail job, and I have been training in EVERY different department, I'm part time.. and I am not getting good hours at ALL.

I'm talking maybe 18-19 hours a week (I was told I would get 30 hours even though I still am training), at around 8 dollars an hour.

I have to be trained in every department in the store, and know every procedure. I have only been trained in cashiering ONLY ONCE, for two hours, and a few days later they put me on cashier ALONE, on the busiest day of the week.

The rest of the trainees that got the job around the same time I did already quit.

I'm being harassed by my managers, and I am becoming to overwhelmed.

This was supposed to be a temporary job, 6-12 weeks... until I get home from a vacation (I'm visiting my parents here, I live in another state). But I desperately need this job to be on my resume... and I've only been there two weeks. I'm so disgusted, stressed and overwhelmed I'm ready to quit, and I'm eyeing another job (not sure how much it pays) at a day care center. I have experience (volunteer work) in working in a nursery, but no work experience (until this job).

So... I'm completely miserable. When should I quit, if at all? Remember: I need this job on my resume!
