in the ad it stated that this was a temp fed job lasting 6 mths that paid 30,000/yr.

Well, half a year is 6 months, so I'd guess half of $30k, or $15k. Wish I could make $15k in 6 months.

Usually they state the wage you will make. You usually make more with a temp agency. I would ask, that shouldn't be a problem. The per hour wage and the hours are the key to finding out the true 6 mo. wage. Good luck.

15k. Salaries are usually listed "per year", but if you work for six months, you'd get half of the annual amount.

If it pays 30'000 per year, you have to work for a year to earn the 30'000, so if you work for half a year, you earn half the yearly income, so you'll be earning 15'000 for the six months.
