I'm looking for some ideas "how to" advise my boss that her answers are suggesting that I'm useless and unable to think for myself. I'm a direct person. When I ask a question, I'm simply looking for that specific answer. What I'm getting, is a long, time consuming explanation, more questions (the majority are not related), and off topic answers. I find I'm wasting time listening to her until she's finished with her unorganized words. I understand I will need to change to cope with her style of working. So far, ignoring her works for me. I'll ask someone else my question, and quickly receive my answer, then continue on with my work.

How can I adapt to her style of answering questions?

What, if anything, should I say to her?

Thanks all. :)

Am I too old to be figuring out what to do with my life! I'm 30 years old. I've had a number of careers which I didn't enjoy or they just didn't pay enough! I graduated high shool and went to school to be a florist.... I loved my job but It didn't pay crap so I went on to do some other not so interesting jobs...got married. Joined the Army went to Iraq. got out of the army cuz I didn't want to get shot! Now I went to school to be a massage therapist! The pay is ok and the work is ok...but I'm still not really happy with what I do! Am I doomed to not ever finding my dream job or what?

I have just finished an internship at a hospital. I moved up to the bay area to get my schooling and training done. Now that I am done should I stay here where they would offer me a well paying job and security OR should I move back home(i.e. family, friends, familiarity)? If I stay I would be offered a good job but I am essentially all alone up here. If I move I would be close to family/friends but would have to apply for positions and do the whole jumping through hoops interview stuff. Also, being a recent graduate might hinder my chances of getting a job, so I worry about the success I'll have in finding a new job.

But honestly every fiber of my being tells me to move.

What would you do?

I am a salesman, I would not want to call myself a professional but I am pretty good at what I do. I know how to handle pretty much any question or situation and get the best out of it. However, I have recently faced a problem with one of my clients that I need help with! The problem was started when I found out that my client feels really strong about his political views and that everything that he believes in is against my views. I am perhaps the most centered guy when it comes to politics and always try to keep everyone happy regardless of what they believe in, but this man’s political views are so extreme, that lets just say it is against every single definition that humanity stands for! In our meeting today I did my best to avoid his questions about my political views, but he feels really strong about what he believes in and I know for a fact that if he does not get his answers he will not buy! So, my question is this: Is there an approach of dealing with this kind of situation, without losing this very valuable client without agreeing with him? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I currently work for a company in a retail environment. Through our companiew internal job posting I found a position in the administrative side of things. The job is an administrative assistant spot. Our company is split into two districts and many people within' both districts have put in recomendations for me regarding this position. And they have already posted a full time spot in my store. What do I need to do to seal the deal? I'm very nervous and I know that I need to walk into that interview, cool, collected and confident. Are there any ways of preparing for that? Thanks for any and all input!!!
