Well, first off if you want to find your dream job, you would need to know what your dream job is...and only you can answer that question. Only you know what you are passionate about..once you figure that out then you are well on your way...Secondly you have to stop putting limitations on yourself... like your age... by doing so your are putting un-just pressure on yourself. It just makes it all that much harder. Good luck

Have you ever had a job because you wanted to be there?...not because you had to have a job.
That matters. You are a person who served our country so there should be oppurtunities open to you. You have to sit down and ask yourself what you really like to do with your time. Do you have any hobbies? Ask yourself what you could see yourself doing ten years from now. Think about what you have done and see if there were some aspects of that job you enjoyed or liked more than others.
When you have those things in mind, then job search. You will find an interesting occurrance. There will be jobs you will try harder to get because you know you will enjoy them more. You do not have to settle unless there are no other avenues, but try every one.
Take me for example. I was thirty-four when I decided not to settle in my jobs. I made a list of the things I liked most to do. Then I made a plan of action which took me to enrolling in my local university where I am six semesters into my degree. When I graduate, I will be opening 24 hour child care centers in my city. Because that is what I can see myself doing in 20 years.

No, it is absolutely not true that you are too old to do anything with your career or life. I have worked so many jobs trying to find out what it is that I want to do. I'm 27 years old and am now back in college going for a pharmacy degree.
Talk to a career counselor, most colleges will have someone you could talk to to. Just keep your eyes open and don't give up.
It is never to late.

Lots of people don't get things figured out till their thirties, it's quite common with us Gen Xers.
I think taking a professional personality assessment and meeting with a career counselor would be a great idea. Also, you may want to consider the fact that you may get more fulfillment from something that others may not consider interesting. Maybe you have a future in a call center and can work up to a manager. Or maybe you should be in accounting. Keep your mind open, the ideal spot for you may be surprising.

No you are not. You've just been trying to find your 'calling' which i don't think very many people do. I'd actually congratulate you for making changes as I've seen people who are very miserable with their jobs/careers stay with them out of fear of change. There are lots of profiles and surveys you can complete to help you figure out what field and occupations would most keep you interested. If you loved the florist job, think about how you could make more money in this industry? Start you own floral shop?

Come on! 30 years old is middle age! Follow your dream. Ask yourself what would you like to see yourself doing 30 years from now, i.e. own a small care, set up a consultant services company, etc... We need to have goals in life. Work towards the goal. All glory comes from daring to begin! Only you will be the best person to know what you want; the Y!Answers community can give you their opinions but eventually it's your call!

No you aren't doomed. It's normal to change careers several times in a lifetime. Chances are that what you really need is a change in your way of thinking. Consider that maybe part of you is trying to tell you to try some new more satisfying changes in your lifestyle or how you view things. Give it some thought, and don't worry, you'll be fine.

No, 30 is a common time for folks to want to do something better with their lives. I started going back to college when I turned 30 and I am almost done. And now I am running my own business.

I'm also 30years old, and I am going back to school, because I finally know what I want to do, that I truly believe I would be happy doing. So, your not to old to change careers.

I'll try to answer this quickly...
I've been told most people don't start thinking
about the future seriously until their mid 40s.
They may find that the good job is hard to find.
Who knows....
