I currently work for a company in a retail environment. Through our companiew internal job posting I found a position in the administrative side of things. The job is an administrative assistant spot. Our company is split into two districts and many people within' both districts have put in recomendations for me regarding this position. And they have already posted a full time spot in my store. What do I need to do to seal the deal? I'm very nervous and I know that I need to walk into that interview, cool, collected and confident. Are there any ways of preparing for that? Thanks for any and all input!!!

Although you have an advantage in an internal interview since you are a "known" candidate, sealing the deal means using that advantage. Be as prepared and professional as though you were an outside candidate - dress well, bring clean copies of your resume, etc. Then in the interview, demonstrate your knowledge of the company and its operations.

The fact that you are anxious about wanting to make the right impression tells me that you are a conscientious person - just what any employer is looking for these days. I'm sure you'll do great - good luck!

Well you already know the company, and you have people on your side so you already have quite a lot going in your favor! If you want a little extra confidence, see if you can talk to someone in a similar administrative position, so you can be on top of what they will be expecting from someone in the position so you can be prepared to answer how your past experience and skills directly relate, this way you won't be 'caught off guard' by anything they throw at you.

Good luck!
