How do malls work? Do the owners charge stores rent or do they get a profit of the merchandise sold or done? About how much does a average mall owner make a year?

The mall is usually owned by a real estate holding company, which does charge rent to the individual stores. I think an "average" yearly income would be fairly meaningless, because it would vary so much depending on the location, the size of the mall, and the particular stores included.

A mall isn't owned by one person....at least i don't think. I thought a mall was a place were a bunch of companies and stores settled buisnesses. Check out the definition on Google.
