Everyone else in the office has noticed as well. Our boss is such a nice guy that he keeps getting second chances...and third and fourth. We are currently short-handed, but what is better, being short-handed or working with someone who does as little work as possible that is supposed to help out the team?

I am staying home with my youngest due to her health reasons, her asthma and allergies were keeping her so sick and I was missing so much work it was better for both of us for me just to stay home. I'm looking for something I can do from home. Not looking to get rich, just earn a few hundred extra dollars a month to make up what I am missing from working. I am not looking to sell any products (I know my limitations and selling is something I am neither good at, nor interested in). I have looked into a home daycare setting, however, with daycare rates here, I wouldn't be making what I would need to with the state's limitations (and my own sanity limitations) with the number of children that can be kept in a home with only one adult. I have an entire home office complete with everything you can imagine. I have done research on the internet, but most require a good bit of money to start, and that is not something I can afford to do right now with no income.

I absolutely hate my job. The pay however is very good. I have been looking for another position, but have not been successful in finding one that will offer near pay I am making now, and due to bills, ect. I know how much I need to make in order to take care of those, and I have yet to find another position that will offer enough for me to make ends meet. So Leaving right now is not an option (however I still continue to look). So my question is, to those that are "stuck" in a job that you hate, what things do you do to make it more tolerable even though the thought of going to work there every day fills you with dread.

I finally sat down today with an employee who is my daughter's CNA sitter. I went through a nursing agency and hired her. The only thing the agency is responsible for is billing the insurance company and depositing paychecks into their accounts. I am responsible for signing their time cards and making schedules. I'm the client.

She's been working for me 3 months, and probably my fault for not having a clear guideline at the beginning of her employment, but I thought the New Year would be a great way to start off fresh.
She's taken 11 days off total for funeral and sick days so far.
Anyway, since I've seen an increase in asking for alot of days off, I sat down with her and went over basic things like Sick Days Off, Funeral Days Off, etc. Before I could even read through the entire guidelines, she got an attitude and started raising her voice to me. She wouldn't let me finish my sentences without interupting me. I was so upset I asked her to leave and fired her.
