There are classes you can take that are for people who speak and understand English but only want to work on their accent, it helps with pronunciations. You could sign up for these classes at community colleges or even at your own college. good luck

We have hosted 9 foreign exchange students. Each was trying to speak English without an accent. The best thing that helped them was to get "Hooked on Phonics" from the local library and work with it faithfully for hours and hours. It starts simple and slowly and is repetitive so it really helped. They also watched TV and kept repeating things they heard. We also used a tape recorder. I'd say something and then they would repeat it. Listening to it they started to spot the differences. If you can get someone to help you, read with them - again copy catting how they say things. Good Luck!

Maybe you could enroll in an ESL class. You must put yourself in situations where you can speak English as much as you can. Unfortunately, most Americans will not correct you when you make a mistake. I tutor English to foreign students, and I try very hard to correct their pronunciation and grammar. It's a slow process and takes a long time. Good luck!

You don't have a disorder. It is natural to have an accent because English is not your first language. Perhaps diction classes would help you speak better. I do not know if colleges offer them or not, but it is worth looking in to. Best of luck.

it's probably not your accent that's the main problem (although it might not be helping) - you just need to make a conscious effort to speak clearly and not too fast...may take some practice if it's not what you're used to doing, but you'll get the hang of it! Just try not to worry...and keep practicing

This may sound stupid, but to learn conversational spanish I watched spanish tv. Watch more TV (in english) to follow how conversations and word usage works on a more person to person basis. It lets you see how english is used in a non text book form, I am sure you've noticed we use alot of slang, hope this helps.

Practice by talking slower. I have noticed that people with accents talk really fast and its hard to understand. Take your time, and it'll get easier.
