"sue" is the perfect employee when the boss is around.first 1 to volunteer for extra work(for the boss),stays late to help the boss, always agrees with the boss, laughs at everything she says.sue even helps her outside of work(house hunting, man hunting)anything the boss wants she does basicly kisses her a---.now when the boss leaves its a different story.sue will spend all her time on the phone, will make me deal with any difficult clients, and will never do any "favors" for me.now the worst part is she will "throw me in" to the boss.for example some papers got lost and our boss asked her if she had seen them.sue told her i was the one to have them last.true or not(i dont think i had them)why would she throw me in like that?she does this all the time.when i asked her why she did this she looked at me snotty and said "well you did!" and walked off.i'm a single mom so i can't leave right now and talking to my boss will not work as they have become "great freinds"

...and, I think that that's unreasonable. If I don't get at least 65 hours, I get fired, and they will replace me with someone else who is willing to do that. The pay is decent, but, I don't want to make myself sick. Suggestions?

I really want to go to law school but be self employed afterwards. I am a single parent and really want to provide him a stable homelife as possible (being there for his games, plays, homework, etc.). I would really like to do legal research, family law, ip, or environmental law or estate law. Can I do those on my own with a 9 hour day or is going to law school pretty much a waste of time?

I have found a school to go to. I was wondering what the life of a cosmetologist is like. I have 3 kids and I need to be there for them also, but I also need to make a better life for them. So if I could get some answers from a cosmetologist that has kids also it would be very helpful. I just want to make sure that this is a carrer that I will be happy with. So what is your lifestyle like? Is there good money in it? Do you stay to busy to do things with your family?

Why would an interviewer ask what kind of car I drive? The position does not involve the use of my car for business purposes. The job pays about 30K a year and I was nervous that saying I have a Lexus IS 300 would make me look like I'm living outside my means. (My car is completely paid off, but that's not the point.) I took the out of acting like a dumb girl and saying, "A reliable gray one." Did I do the right thing?

I have spent three years building up a business and with miminal advertising though maximum effort have been able to make it successful with vast amounts of opportunity for continued growth. I have gained respect from people, honest money and able to provide for me and my daughter. However, even though it sounds great I am now unhappy inside my soul. I seem to of lost who I am and am continually feeling the urge to sell it and retrain in my passsion of fitness. If I sell it I will obvisouly have a lower income and feel scared that I may regret it though emotionally I feel I should. Any opinions welcome. Thankyou everyone.

I filled an online application out for a well known furniture store. I have AWESOME qualifications for the position posted in my opinion - 5 years of retail management experience, over 7 years customer service experience. Anyhow, one of the prerequisites to apply are that you must be available to work every Saturday and Sunday. Well, I'm a christian and do not work Sundays. Therefore, I answered the question "no." I was directed to a page that told me I did not meet the requirements of the position. Is this not religious discrimination? I can't have that position because I can't work 1 day a week because my Lord tells me it's his declared day of rest?

I'm updating my resume and I'm unsure on how to include a couple of things that I believe should be included in the experience section of my resume. (I am a college student with very little work experience and want to include all I can that seems relevant.)

First update:
A guy subcontracted me to help him out with a computer programming project using Visual Basic.Net. He was hired by someone else (I don't know who) to write the program, and I helped him out with some of the coding for the project and received pay.

Second update:
I was given a few hours of raw unedited video and was hired to turn it into a sales video. I captured the video to a computer, edited it by only including the parts that I felt best represented the products being advertised, added transition effects, accented it with music, etc...

Both of these additions to my resume were freelance work and I only worked for a single person (not a company) for each of them.

My company is now starting to pay overtime even though i am salary paid at the end of each month. But they have said that if you work overtime at the beginning of the month, ie 12hrs x time and a half and then have 2 days off sick at the end of the month i will not be paid my overtime rate because i have not worked enough hours in that month.I will loose a half days pay in this example. Is this legal?
