Is it proper to ask about the job requirements - specifically, the hours - before the interview? I don't want to waste anyone's time if they are hiring for a shift I cannot work. What is most acceptable?

I have been offered a job as a customer service rep with Nordstrom and with another company as well. I am very concerned about making the "right" decision as to which company to choose. Can you please tell me specifically what you like/dislike about working at Nordstrom? Any pros and cons would be helpful in getting the "inside scoop" before I make the commitment. Thanks!

(The pay and non-monetary compensation are about the same between Nordstrom and Company X-it's mostly the corporate culture and how they treat their employees that I am interested in. But once again, ANY feedback would be appreciated!)

I'm looking for some ideas. I have a wife and a child and I'm looking for a good career. I know that you almost have to get some kind of degree to get a good job. So what's out there that won't take for ever, as far as getting a degree goes? I'm looking for a stable job that only pays decent but is rewarding in of itself.

There is a girl at work that is doing everything she can to get me in trouble. This is includes making false accusations and getting HR involved. I fear that a few things I have done are against policy, however I do this for everyone and feel that everyone in the company does the same thing. What am going to do? I am so aggravated and under so much pressure. She has told several people she's out to get me, and that she hates me. I am in upper managment and she is too, just at a different location. I am so FRUSTRATED.. I don't feel anything I do is any different then my other managers. Please HELP!... Should I find a new job? If so, she would win and I don't want that, but this has been going on for 2 years now, and I don't know how much more I can handle.

thanks!!!!

I will be graduating in May with these two degrees and a minor. I have alot of volunteer experience (working as a tutor in the public schools, volunteering at an assisted living facilitie, etc.). I have completed my degree in 3 years-instead of the typical 4 and have made Dean's List every semester. I am hoping to find work (because I cannot afford grad. school right away)...all suggestions are greatly appreciated!!
