Careers & Employment - January 2007

I have applied for countless jobs over the years and had no end of excuses as to why they won't employ me. apparently I am a fire risk, a health and safety risk and not classed as human.

Why won't employers even consider employing disabled people?

Can anyone help me with a covering letter that might put their minds at ease?

I feel so frustrated that I want to say the following, but I am sure this would put them off even more.

I have been offered 2 full time identical jobs for 2 different companies for identical job roles. Apart from comparing salary, location, career prospects, pension, holidays, and other company benefits, what else do I need to consider when choosing which employer to work for?

I graduated with a BS in Psychology in December. I'm going to go to graduate school for a MSW Social work/ MS Child Development dual degree, or one of those degrees or the other.

Should I
A.) Get a job first and then start school close to home (commute)
B.) Move farther away and start school first and then look for a job(live on campus or near campus in a BIG city)
C.) Just go to school and not work (except for an internship or two that they sign me up for.)

Could you please say the reason why you choose the answer you do?

I am applying for a job that was in the paper and i just made my resume and was wondering when i need to attach a cover letter?? i dont know my employers name or job title...i mean how does anybody know who to make the cover letter out to anyways?? the job that i am applying for is a customer service representative

I am 25 and I have come to the conclusion that all this time in college and not anywere near any sort of degree that leads to a job I want that I need to start making some sort of income soon, otherwise face working untill I die! Now the problem is that I have always up till now placed Education above all things, thus why I never had much in the way of a job. What do I put down on my application that wont make them think I am some sort of low life? Do I put down I do have Assoiates in Liberal Arts? Do I put down that when I was younger I did belong to the Boyscouts (but due to the fact my troop disolved I did not get up there in high rank) Do I put that in 12th grade when I lived in NY ( I now live in Florida) I did a voter regrestation drive? I am by the way not wanting a job in fast food bussiness or any food bussiness at all. Also how do I explain why I have not held down a job? is simply putting Education was vital to me at the time, but now I am looking to start a career?

I've been searching for a new job and ive posted my resume on a few job search websites.... My background is Admin/Office work, and i just got an offer to be a loan processor. They told me they would teach me if im willing to learn. Which i am.... But i dont know if it will be worth it. My best friends boyfriend is a loan processor and he makes really great money, But im not even sure what they do. or there responsibilities... can someone explain to me what it is?

My boss is a size 0 runs 8 miles every day and does atkins or like a no sugar and all veggies diet. ok i am a waitress and a size 16, i go to school and work out every other day adn am loosing weight, but i dont want to be an atkins girl, or run 8 miles every day. She treats the girls who arent tiny tiny like poo. makes us take up the work for the other girls who are tiny and ignored us when we need something or a day off. She is a ***** literally and i dont know how to approach the unfair treatment.

I try to correct my mistake, which is letting high school students exit the front of the school when they are supposed to exit an alternative way. Sometimes they overpower me and go in groups. She happens to catch this at the wrong moment and lectures me everyday when is it beyond my control. My boss is a middle-aged woman whose moods change day to day. What can I do?

I'm computer degree based lawyer .Right now i had been finished my law degree.But i don't know how to start my carrer with the above qualification.Basically, i want to use my computer sense in my law work and so searching such kind of information.

I have successfully shortlisted for the final management interview for an airline and i'm very confident that i'll be selected as a flight attendant but i am not sure if this is what i want to do for the following 5 years as stated in the contract.I am looking forward to be part of the professionals in this service industry but not so keen on the 5 years bond.
My parents are not so keen on me joining as FA but they say is all up to my decision.This really a setback because i don't want to disappoint my parents.My friends says a lot of people been dying to get the job and is not easy to get the FA career but since i've gotten the chance then go for it.
Please advise me especially parents with daughter as FA.I would really appreciate what parents will think about this.
