I'm trying to figure out if I want to go to London, New York, L.A., Sydney, or a few other places, but I'm not sure if I'll find work as easily as I can in the San Francisco Bay Area as a software engineer. Anyone have any ideas?

I know in the Silicon valley the perks are unreal for software engineers. There was a thing on tv about it. I think they get six weeks of paid vacation somewhere.

Apart from USA and other places you have listed , if you are looking for global openings, Bangalore , India has lots of software companies . All the bigwigs like oracle , Intel , IBM ,yahoo etc have offices here . Infosys and wipro have a huge set up... Chennai , Pune , Hyderabad Mumbai and other cities in India have IT companies... Other than this many south east asian countries and China you can try.... Ofcourse Bay area is good and Sanfrancisco is beautiful....
