How can I deal with a boss that picks on me everyday for the same thing?

I try to correct my mistake, which is letting high school students exit the front of the school when they are supposed to exit an alternative way. Sometimes they overpower me and go in groups. She happens to catch this at the wrong moment and lectures me everyday when is it beyond my control. My boss is a middle-aged woman whose moods change day to day. What can I do?

You need to do your job. If you are not doing it correctly, then she has every right to pick on you. You need to find a way to make sure that the kids are exitting the correct way. You need to be assertive and in a stern voice, say, "No! You need to leave through the other doors!" DON'T LET THEM DO IT!

Bring this up in a meeting with her boss! If she thinks it is so easy let her do it. Some people are that way when they are in authority you give them an inch and they try too take a mile. If you let her push you around it wont get any better!

Say, " you could be right." Who could argue with that statement? You are admitting she could be right, although you know yourself there is not a snowball chance in h**l that she is right. Or offer her some chocolate candy. And thank her for bringing this to your attention. Tell her she is the best boss you ever had. And any other kind of sh*t you can think of. You can't win with those kind of people; the best you can hope for is that you can kill her with kindness.
