The sales department is responsible not only in selling a product but also in figuring out how to support that product once it is sold. The support can be technical support for how to use the product, like computers. Sales people tell customers what are the best things about their product and why it is different from the competition. In a shoe store, for example, the sales lady would tell the customer what a shoe is made of and what other colors it is available. She can also tell the customer what other kinds of shoes he might like other than what are on display. The sales department makes all kind of decisions. They predict how many shoes a store must carry so they will not run out of shoes to sell. They make the decision on how to display the shoes in the store and what kind of advertising they need to do so that people will keep coming to their store.The sales department also determine how much they should price the shoes. They also determine what time they should open and close the store during each day...and more.
