I'm the only female in my department and I like it that way. I don't have to deal with cattiness or drama. I do my job well and I'm a little apprehensive about a new female coming into the office. I can't help but feel a little threatened- almost a little territorial. I'm a great employee and have always felt confident in my work. I don't know why I feel this way. Is this normal?

I am a store manager at a grocery store; I just hired my daughter who is her first year at college. Now, we were never were close when she was a kid. And working on becoming closer now that she is older. But it seems everything I ask of her to she asks why? She does it but with attitude. She also embarrasses me in front of my employees when I am trying to talk to her about something job related.

I need some advice on what to do.

I am a day time college student and need a night job. How do you search for night/evening jobs? I can post my resume, but how would I specify that I am only interested in night/evening jobs or is it for me to sort out if I get any offers. What is a good night job to get?

Recently, I offended a coworker who was also my friend and now this person does not want to speak to me right now. I don't know if the silent treatment is temporary or permanent, but we happen to share an office room together. I think I lost a friend. Should I quit my job to relieve the tension?

on my job for 7 years. only making 11.00 per hour. i have been overlooked several times for assistant managers position, over the years i have been asked to fill in as assistant manager. doing my duties as well as the assistant managers duties, thinking that it may lead to me being promoted to that spot. and everytime they've hired an under qualified male for the position, having to be trained for the job that i was already doing, and i would be the one who would have to train them, not knowning that they were be trained for that job, i was being told that they wear countermen or being trained to work at another location. one time i was told that there was a hiring freeze, and the assistant managers position couldn't be filled, that it was not enough money in the budget, cause payroll was to high! but there is an assistant manager at my location whats up with that?. thanks over-worked and over-looked!

I am 50 years old, worked for an ophthalmolgist for 10 years as an assistant. I have been out of the medical field for almost 20 years now. I looked up transcription schools on the net, however, i decided to go to college to get the associates degree. Unfortunately because I have been out of school so long, I have to take English, and yuck math. Are there any older people here who have taken the courses and how was it? And for those of you that are now certified, how do you go about drumming up doctors. A lot of doctors have "farmed out" their dictation, I would like to do this at home when I am finished. Suggestions please.. Thanks

I am the newest employee where I work (been there 4 months). I work during the day by myself and the rest of them (6 people in total) come in at night. I get along with all except 1 older woman who thinks I touch the personal items on her cart. (which I do not) She has left not-so-nice notes here and there and clearly does not get along well with anyone. I have to use her set of master keys (yes we are in the cleaning business) because our boss said her keys were the ones for me to use during the day. She does not like this and often hides the keys for me and I have to hunt for them. When I told my boss about this he just shrugs it off and says, "Well, yeah she is kind of like that, just try to go about your business and do what you need to do."

Are "data entry" positions actually legitimate? Is it safe to do on-line surveys; if so, do they ever really pay anything? I'd just like to supplement my income a bit each month, preferably via my computer from home and without being scammed! Thanks for any information provided...

Has anyone ever heard of this company. Some guy was trying to offer me a job while I was standing on line in Macy's. He was really trying his best to get me too go for an interview. When I was leaving. I notice he was talking to someone else in reference to the same job offer he talked to me about. Huh....
