Recently, I offended a coworker who was also my friend and now this person does not want to speak to me right now. I don't know if the silent treatment is temporary or permanent, but we happen to share an office room together. I think I lost a friend. Should I quit my job to relieve the tension?

No. Just give it some time. Your coworker should be able to seperate friendship issues and be professional.

Just apologize don't expect a reaction and let it sit and things might get back to normal till the next time you say some thing mean. No reason to quit

Never quit a job. Unless you have another job that you can do. I suggest maybe talking to your coworker about it. Saying sorry never hurts even if you weren't wrong.

You say it is your fault then I guess you can’t just quit and run away…….. You have to straighten things up. Don’t push………..give time. Acknowledge it is your fault and that you are sorry it happened!!! I won’t say the person will come around easy but you have to try………..who knows maybe in time all will be cool and you’ll can just laugh about it!!!

Consider the idea that maybe these little opportunities are ways of finding out who our friends really are. If you wish to apologize to this person, do so genuinely, and give them some time. If they hold their grudge, perhaps they aren't the true friend you imagined.

No. Try again to talk to this person, to clear things up. Was what you did that bad. Everything takes time, give it time. If you feel the need to leave then at least find something first. Goodluck.

NO!!!!! Do not quit your job. Talk to him about it. Apologize, admit that you were wrong about whatever it was (if you think you were) and ask him if you cant be good friends, at least be good enough acquaintances that you can work together.

If you can find another job, I guess you could, but maybe your office mate should pick up some maturity. It's a job, not your world.

No, do not quit. Did you apologize? If you did, you did your part, we all make mistakes. Give it 1 week and your friend will come around.

No. Things will get better. Quitting will only make you look like you're running away. Try talking to her about it.
