Only if you LOVE to cook and can work long hard hours. that is what it takes and you make good money if you are really good and are an agressive person, meaning that you are willing to go to the places where chefs are in demand and make the money. That means a large city where lots of restaurants are and there is a demand for good chefs. You have to love it, the hours are many and the responsibility is great. If you love it it'll work.

stick to YOUR goals!!! i'm an aspiring chef myself and don't hear relating to the money...do you like 40 5-50k a 12 months doing what you like and taking section in the style of life? Or do you like greater money yet you should artwork in a cubical 10 hours an afternoon and the only nutrition you get to work out is the merchandising device nutrition staring off in case you're thinking "I ought to have been a chef"... some pastry chefs can earn 80k+ consistent with 12 months...you will initiate low yet then you truly will upward push to greater fulfillment, money, and probably even attractiveness as a pastry chef... stick to what you think of is right and enjoy your life considering the fact which you're in basic terms in this earth for a quick whilst and if I have been you i could do what i like :)

Yes, but it must be what you would enjoy. There is a lot of money in being a chef, cooking for different people or even owning your own restaurant. If this is something you can do and enjoy, u r on the right road.

Any career you pursue that interests you...is a good career to pursue. Some careers you may start off slow where you may need to move up the ladder (alot are like this)..and others you may get lucky. Gotta be willing to walk the extra mile. It"ll pay off.... Personally, i know of one Chef(at a hotel). He started at the bottom (ex:making maybe 20k to 22k per yr). Couple years later he was master chef (making 53k per yr). He left for different environment of cooking style/company (about 60k per yr). about 5 to 6 months later former employer calle him back (offer had to be over 60k per yr), he accepted teh position again.. Good luck

The money depends on where you work. The hours are terrible. I worked every night, every holiday, every weekend, twelve to fifteen hours a day. That being said, I loved it. If you have a family though, it stinks. Also, many places have no insurance and no paid vacations.
