I'm the only female in my department and I like it that way. I don't have to deal with cattiness or drama. I do my job well and I'm a little apprehensive about a new female coming into the office. I can't help but feel a little threatened- almost a little territorial. I'm a great employee and have always felt confident in my work. I don't know why I feel this way. Is this normal?

if it has been that way for a while, then its just what u are used too, think of it this way, what if that new girl was you, she might be feeling shy, uncomfortable at first, and its up to u to make that first impression. who knows, u guys might become good friends. jsut dont judge HER, she might not be there to cause drama or to mess things up for u, she simply wants a job. so just put yourself and her position. good luck!

Sure it's normal but your employer knows your worth. Relax. In a few months you'll be glad to have another girl around.

wow! i thought i was the only one selfish enough to think that way. i dont know why i think that way. i guess because i think they are going to come in and take over and everyone will like them better. i am not sure if it is "normal" but at least you know someone else that thinks the way you do. :)
