Whoa your situation sounds crazy. Why wouldn't your boss give you copies or have you use someone elses if he knows this chick has an attitude problem and he's not willing to address it. Hmm, makes me wonder about people sometimes. So anyways, I think it's possible to get along with everyone but most places have at least one bad apple. Well, that's my two cents

No.
There are a lot of books written about personality types and how to work with them. But even the best of these "concepts" have problems when it comes to the reality of working with some people.
I'm 54. Worked 31 years for state gov, mostly as a consultant where I went into state agencies and interviewed people on what they were doing, then I recommended changes (new computer systems) and I then designed and built it. Many people were afraid of either losing their jobs or afraid they would be found to have done something wrong - so they lied to me.
The funniest event was when I tape recorded my interview - had the tape recorder on the top of the desk and recorded me telling the person it would be recorded. When the Director of that agency read my report, he blew up. Called me in for a meeting with all of the staff I had interviewed. They all said I was wrong when I described what they did. I said my written material came from the tape - still they said I had it wrong. I played the tape for them so the could hear the Supervisor telling me what they did. The Supervisor was in the meeting and said, they had said that - but it was their answer to a different question. ( ? ) So I let them hear me ask the question and the Supervisor answer (still wrong). So the Supervisor said I had not operated the tape recorder correctly, that she would never have said anything that wrong. (?) The Director told her to shut up and not speak another word. And he called me a smart a** for playing the tape.
I guess the lesson is even if you are right, you might offend some people.
It sounds like the person is scared of losing their job and is using what they control (the keys) to keep you out of their area. You will never change this.
Why not tell your supervisor something like "You know, I waste a lot of time each day searching to find the keys she hides. And you are paying me for that. If we cannot find the keys we cannot get the work done. In case we cannot find her keys, shouldn't you have a 2nd set of keys? It would probably cost less to have a 2nd set of keys, than the cost of looking for the keys for just one night."
Then if you cannot find her keys, just go to him and make a comment "Well at least we don't have to search for the keys tonight."
Or, depending on the building, why can't the boss require that the keys - when not in use - be put into a cabinet. Give the other woman a key to unlock the cabinet. And the boss would have a key to unlock the cabinet. And you would have key to unlock the cabinet. ?

It is not easy to get along with everyone, even when it feels like everything is working, somebody is pretending. I have been working in my current service area in an international company for 9 months but 7 years in the firm, but I don't get along with any of the 5 other people, problem being that if I see them doing something that is not right, I question, because I believe in treating everyone equal. I work in a serviced areal that runs an academy. I am actually quiting end of Feb coz what they do is wrong.

Well, the one person that can do something doesn't want to so, just do your job and don't worry about her. If he's paying you to look for keys that is his perogative, though it's silly to me and you. This woman probably feels threatened. You are young and maybe she is older and feels like she may be replaced or can't fullfil her dreams and is in a job she doesn't like. So, just kill her with kindness. Leave her nice notes thanking her for something. I always say you get more with honey than vinegar. So, be kind and don't stoop to her level. She may have probnlems you don't know about. Good luck being tolerent.

First off, think about how complex a persons emotions are. then think about how many you are compatable with. If you are compatible with alot of people well then you may like alot of them, but also take into account that they have different likes in other people too. You may like a wide variety of people, but she may not. So I personally would sit down and talk to her. Tell her that you are not here to replace her and that you are there simply to do a job. Also reassure her that you don't take things from her cart.

I don't think it is ever possible to get along with EVERYONE you work with. That's okay as long as you are not the one caus
ing the trouble, which it sounds like you are not.
I don't think it's right that she harasses you like that though and maybe you should let your boss know that it is a serious issue for you.
Good Luck!

NO..because not everybody will appreciate who you are and how you work. But the right attitude is to get along with them for the sake of achieving the desired results. Just show that you are matured to handle things, and someday things will change.

It is possible? but also not at all impossible for there to be one or two knuckleheads that get on your nerves at all times. What I usually say is "you gotta only work with em but you dont gotta like em"....and if you tell em that boldly. They usually calm down. good luck
