Long story short....recieved a job offer and turned it down. Immediately after I hung up the phone I was kicking myself in the butt. So, I called him back and said I regreted turning down the job and if we could discuss pay a little more, then I would come work for his company. I cannot believe I did that!! He kinda chuckled and said he would think about it over the weekend. So...was what I did totally wrong and do you think the guy thinks I'm a moron?

Hi. I am an 18 year old community college student in his first semester. I graduated high school in earlier this year.

All my friends have minimum paying jobs like a Jamba Juice or Abercrombie.

At times when I sit here in my room I think about getting a job that can pay better than the jobs my friends have. My friends dont have anything to put down on their resume but I feel I do providing that i started and ran my own ebay business starting at the age of 15.

What are some jobs that I could possibly get that would be fun, pay well and not distract me from my studies?

Thanks!

Greetings all Yahoo Answers participants!
I am a student seeking a lot of participation in a simple two (2) question survey that will be used as part of a research paper in my criminal justice class.

You will be asked two questions and will need to select two of three choices. There will be no right or wrong answers, however the reader who is able to best communicate his reasoning behind his/her answer will be voted BEST ANSWER by myself & another individual! Here we go.

BACKGROUND: You are an employer who needs to hire one (1) person to fill a position with your company.

You have three (3) candidate applications on your desk and all have the exact same qualifications for the job.

One applicant has a ten year old felony conviction for robbery.

Applicant number two has a ten year old felony conviction for child molestation.

The third applicant has a ten year old felony conviction for murder.

Which two (2) of the three applicants would you consider hiring?

Explain why you would NOT consider hiring the third?

I work at Client A through company B(my company). The company B doesnt have any contracts with Client A but they have a contractual obligation with me ,preventing from joining any of their clients. Now since the client has no contractual obligation, he is trying to offer me a job which I am very much interested (due to good renumeration and other stuff). This has happened to other ppl in my company and they didn't have any problem but since I feel i am a underdog, just wanted to know whether my company can sue me and prevent me from taking the offer , I work in d.c

Thanks

Is anyone out there as cheesed off as i am with so called tradesmen who do a rubbish job? Does nobody take any pride in their work anymore?
I employ a craftsman because i do not have the nohow to do a good job....if i pay craftsmen...who incidently are not cheap...i expect a good standard and not something that i could have done a better DIY job myself...! I'm absolutly fed up with having to argue with people to get the service that i am paying for....!!!

Right now, I'm really leaning towards work for the money...after having a father who is laid off, and a mom who isn't making all that much.

Granted, our family isn't struggling to live (I'm going to college, I have a car, my brother has a car, parents are divorced) - but it seems like to make it nowadays, you have to just work for the money....I would love to go into the computer industry, but there just aren't jobs. I'm looking for a career in pharmacy, maybe something medical, just for the strong job security. I mean, I could always take up computers and tech as a hobby, right?

What do you all think?

Basically my boss is a complete dick. Last night I almost passed out and was really light headed and he told me "thats the name of the game" and wouldnt let me leave. He made me start crying. Also a couple weeks ago I called in after throwing up all night and told him that and he was like well that sucks but YOU better find someone to cover your shift. He is just extremely rude. PS its a hostessing job paying 7.50 an hour, just incase you were wondering. Please give me some advise.

Say you make 20.00 an hour and 4% you pay for union dues, is there anything else that you pay out of that 20.00 an hour for such as holiday, vacation, health care, and for the holiday and vacation wouldn't you receive that back. So altogether what is really paid out of your pocket?
