Greetings all Yahoo Answers participants!
I am a student seeking a lot of participation in a simple two (2) question survey that will be used as part of a research paper in my criminal justice class.

You will be asked two questions and will need to select two of three choices. There will be no right or wrong answers, however the reader who is able to best communicate his reasoning behind his/her answer will be voted BEST ANSWER by myself & another individual! Here we go.

BACKGROUND: You are an employer who needs to hire one (1) person to fill a position with your company.

You have three (3) candidate applications on your desk and all have the exact same qualifications for the job.

One applicant has a ten year old felony conviction for robbery.

Applicant number two has a ten year old felony conviction for child molestation.

The third applicant has a ten year old felony conviction for murder.

Which two (2) of the three applicants would you consider hiring?

Explain why you would NOT consider hiring the third?

I would consider the robbery felon and the murder felon. I believe they can be rehabilitated. The robber a little more than the murderer. Murder is up there with molestation but there is no excuse for molestation in my mind. A person that would take advantage of a child in that way would do any of the other two as well.
Just my opinion.
With that said, everyone should be given a second chance but not a third.

Firstly, can't answer your question completely and honestly because of your ten year old felony conviction for child molestation. Does this job have anything to do with children?

So I will forgo that part of this question which should have been given, and presume the job is not around children:

Hard question and I guess I would pick the murderer and robber and not the molester.

Why would I not consider hiring the third:

I was molested by my father, two brothers, my friends grandfather, the babysitters son and his friend from the ages of 3-11. So in my world, I am not too fond of molesters. They are not born this way, but if it were me and I was doing the hiring I would rather they rob people and murder them then molest a child. Once a child has been truly molested, it never goes away and is with them for life. I've been robbed, and you can get new stuff. My brother was murdered, and guess what he is dead and has gone onto the next life..out of this crappy one.

So no to the molester.

Sounds too much like homework to me. Sorry I finished that 30 years ago.
