I mean come on, this is reality we need a paycheck to live.
I'm getting a job as a cust. rep (possibly) but it's not what I want to do. It would be excellent pay, decent hours, a great company. Of course I'd love to stay at home with my son as long as I could, but it's not always reality.

I'm job searching and debating about whether some of the companies I interview with are really ethical and honest companies to work for. How do you really tell?

Hello, I am a not so typical but very possible businessman, and I have some conflict with my wife. We have been married for 3 years.

She is an average American housewife, and of course I love her so much, I do care for her, and I always want to make her happy.

However, it seems like my career and its required labor are hindering our marriage.

According to the statistics, I work 800 hours more than other average Americans working annually. I guess this business simply has to exploit agents like me to stand herself competitive.

After work, I am completely exhausted both physically and mentally, and she doesn't like me having a break, cause she does a lot of housework.

Just because my job is an utter sweatshop, that doesn't mean that I make my wife to do all the housework. I want to minimize her burden, and I try to help her.

But she is still not satisfied, she wants me to do exactly the half of all houseworks.

But, I don't have any strength to do this.

My boss informed me that there was a lot of internet usage going on at the workplace and that he was going to put an "internet screener," (as he called it) On a daily basis, I check my yahoo mail account, my myspace account, sometimes my ebay account, and various other things (pay cell phone bill, transfer funds, etc, etc) I was in my boss's office today, and to my absolute HORROR, I found a peice of paper listing my email accounts/user names AND PASSWORDS!! for ALL of the accounts that I access online. I am absolutely horrified, and feel that my privacy has been compromised. He never fully explained what this screener was, and I just figured it would allow him to see the names (only) of the websites that i visited..i.e yahoo.com, ebay.com, etc, etc. Well apparantly it gives him much much more. Can anyone please help me? Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone else ever heard of a screener? Can someone please tell me if this is LEGAL? Because it certainly feels illegal.

I have a few questions about taking the CPA exam in Pennsylvania.

I am currently working as an an analyst for a major financial firm. I enjoy this position and do not currently wish to change into public accounting.

If I take and pass the CPA exam now and then get my masters before I do my experience requirement will I still need to do 2 years experience, since I waited until after the CPA exam to get my masters?

Does your masters need to be in accounting or would a masters in finance be okay?

If you are not practing public accounting, do you still need to keep up with the CPE requirements to stay licensed and if not, how many hours would you need to take to become up to date?

So, here is my situation....

I am currently in the Hotel/ Hospitality Industry. I have 2 years of experience. I just applied online for an Assistant Front Office Manager position and I was called for a phone interview by the director of Human Resources by this hotel. To tell you the truth, the lady was not very nice and DID NOT sound very happy with my answers at all. Still, she called me to schedule an interview for tomorrow morning with the Front Office Manager that I will be working with. Would they schedule an appointment for me if I didn't even have a chance? I just feel like there is no way I could get this job because in the requirements it states some things that I don't have. What are your thoughts? Any advice? Please only NICE answers need apply.

Sub-questions:
References. Are you just required to list names and numbers of your references - or do you need letters from them? What if I have zero references? Please explain what would make my references better than yours etc. What are they for - just to prove that I exist as a person; to prove that I am a good person; a popular person?

Hobbies and club memberships? Are they looking for the most conventional, conservative answers? Should I fake them? Am I a bad person if I am not a club member or a socialite?

Old office name cards/ telephone numbers. Are they necessary for the application form? What if I have a habit of throwing away old cards?

Popularity. Is it necessary to prove that you were/ are a popular person? What if I'm not one of the 'in' crowd?

Lying. Should I lie to exaggerate my abilities or to hide my flaws? Do most people become best candidates because they lie (to get the edge)?

My questions may seem over the top, but they are honest questions. Thanks.
