It depends on what the apartment heats with, if you need cable, and a phone, and if the landlord pays the water and sewage. Take your time looking. I would suggest that you find an apartment where the water is paid. Also, cable really is not a necessity. Make that one of your last priorities. And a phone, use either a cell phone, or a home phone not both. I would suggest a basic home phone. Meaning, no caller ID, and no call waiting. When it comes to a place where you heat with gas, keep your thermostat at on temp. and leave it there. If you keep your thermostat set at 64-65 all winter you will save yourself a lot of money. Invest in some thick socks to run around the house in and a couple of thick blankets to sleep with. You won't freeze and you will adjust to that temperature and become comfortable with it. As far as electric goes, be careful with it.Just use common sense by not leaving any lights on that you don't need. Remember, not only do you have to worry about your utilities, you are going to have a grocery bill, cleaning/laundry supplies, necessities such as toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoo, soap. You are doing good now by looking for ways to create a budget by asking for advice. There are alos efficiency apatments where all utilities are paid. Ofcoarse you won't find one with a washer/dryer hook-up. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you find an apartrment that does not have a washer/dryer hook-up, the laundry mat can rack up a nice bill for you real quick. Good luck!

You may be able to find an apartment with all bills paid. If not there are a lot of apartments where they pay the water. So you would be repsonsible for the electric, phone, or cable. I know you are probably really ready to move out and be on your own, but if I were you I would stay where you are at. You are lucky to have a place to live.

Rent deposit(for the first month, sometimes last) Rent, electricity, food, clothing, heating bill, garbage, phone/cellphone, water, gas (for your ride), car repairs, car insurance, hopefully health insurance.

If you have remaining money then you can get cable, internet, new car, gym membership, but these are luxery items and you might have to go without them.

BTW save up money for a rainy day, you never know and DEFINITELY don't want to end up in the hole.

It also helps to avoid using credit cards and checks as much as possible and to keep an eye on your bank account, it is very difficult to get out of debt once you are in it.

Hope this helps

Usually an apartment will require the first and last month's rent, plus security deposit (at least equal to a month's rent), utilities (electric & gas) are sometimes included in the rent, as is cable.
Those are the basics. In addition, you'll need a phone, and of course food, personal items, cleaning supplies, and eating utensils (plastic and paper will cut dishwashing time to zero - but then I'm a male.)

A lot pay the heat & water (leaving you with electric & phone). You are going to do the math & think "oh I can afford that" but you cant so go cheaper. Things will always come up that needs money. It is also important to remeber you can fill a shopping cart with $100 worth of items & none of it is food (cleaning supplies & things). The rule of thumb is no more then 33% of your monthly income should go for rent. Use this & you will be ok.

you will possibly ought to discover a landlord that provides this style of deal. generally once you employ a room you may get a cost featuring your utilities. once you employ an place of residing you pay employ to the owner and the owner pays your water bill. Very seldom do they incorporate your electric bill interior the employ. (because of the fact which you need to run up the bill to an quantity the place the employ on my own does no longer cover that bill). All different costs like electrical energy, gas, telephone, cable, rubbish are generally on your call basically and you will ought to pay them your self.
