I've had experience as an Admin Assist for years now. I've had full time jobs doing that but right now work for a temp service. I see that there are less and less need for Admin Assists in the business world. Any ideas of a job I could move into?

I just had an interview and asked them not to contact my current employer unless they are offering me the position. Now I am wondering what my current employer may say if they get such a call. My employer is wonderful and seems quite happy with me. They are however not nice to previous employees or those they find out are looking into other options. If you see my other question, it deals with my current employer. I asked the question for one of my previous co-workers.

I have been working at my current job for about 3 months. I like it but I am a receptionist so if I need time off it is really hard because they dont have a back up for me and that makes it so someone else cant do their own job because they have to fill in for me. This is a Temp- To Hire job and I am not even sure if I will be here much longer.

My cousin works at a medical billing facility and they are hiring, so I submitted my resume and they called me for an interview...I am going today. If they offer me the job should I accept it. Keep in mind my current job in 1 hour drive each way and the new job would only be 35 mins each way.. I like what I am doing now and eveyone is so nice but I worry that maybe tomorrow I wont have a job here because business is getting slow..I hate switching jobs but this new one sounds like a great opportunity...Could someone give me some adivce.

I have been helping people write resumes & cover letters for over 4 years now and am thinking about doing it on the side for extra cash. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can go about this and where to advertise?

I went home sick last night from work, with a migraine. I am worse now than I was then. I am now vomiting and any kind of light is making my head hurt immensely. The problem is, I was sick last week, for something different, and had to stay home for two days. I understand that this a really bad way to start off a new job, but it's not my fault I'm sick. I've been at this job since September 21st. Will I be fired if I call in sick again today?

This is a company that offers customer service positions to independent contractors in the work at home force. I first saw a feature about the company on Good Morning America so I'm thinking it is legitimate, but there is a monetary requirement to get started with this company to pay for training courses, set-up, incorporation, etc and I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with them and, if so, is it worth the money in the long run. They state up front that start-up costs run in the area of $500, which is manageable for me. I just don't want to throw it away either.

Any advice please????

I just finished school for nursing. Do other nurses like their jobs? Some nurses seem so stressed.

I've been unemployed for almost 2 mos, had 3 unsuccessful interviews, since I haven't received or probably will never receive any response from one of them. I tried to apply for retail, bank, clerical jobs at the college and posted ads.

I had already told several people I know, and friends, but I think I have very few contacts who can help me find a right job.

Employment/recruiting agencies can't seem to help me. Sometimes I'd get a call from few agencies only to verify basic information about me but rarely or never received a call for a job.

It seems hard to concentrate on school work, and not to worry much about finding and getting a job at the same time.

Our office help quit back in the summer. He won't hire anyone else. I work from home, 2 hours away from the office. I'm doing my regular job and office help job (what I can do via internet and phone). Also I tell my boss the status of projects via email (that's mainly how we communicate) and he doesn't read all of my emails and can't keep up with what's going on. Then a month later someting will come up about that project and nothing has been done. I would quit now, but I am pregnant and want to work from home when I have my baby. But he's driving me crazy.

This is a curiosity question. I'm wondering if it's wise to go to a job interview when one is sick. Would it favor the person if he/she went to a job interview depending on how he/she is sick? Or would it be a strike against a person if he/she went to a job interview when sick?

Here's a hypothetical situation: Let's say, a person can barely talk and he/she is coughing uncontrollably, has a terrible sore throat, and having a hard time swallowing. He/She doesn't have a fever, but he/she feels terrible and has no energy. No matter how this person feels, the interviewer is going to tell by looking at the interviewee that he/she doesn't feel good.

Now, please answer my questions and apply it to the above situation.

I have been offered an opportunity for interview with a very well paid job. It would be seven thousand pounds a year more than I am on here. However, I have just started to settle in here and really get on with the team. Admittedly, however I do not feel challenged.
This job I am going for will be challenging both physically and mentally, but I don't want to let people down. The new role as well would be a lot closer to home, and in an environment I am used to working in. However it is public sector and I left my last job because I didn't like the office politics! It's so complicated, what do I do? Also.. I have a mortgage to pay for soon!
