I just had an interview and was asked this question. I drew a blank. What would be a good response to this question?

Never point out something that can't affect their decision about hiring you, but if you also say something like I work to much or I'm a perfectionist, you don't sound believable, remember they are HR specialists.
You should be honest and point out one of your "little things" and always follow with a positive action.
You can always say something like, when I'm stress sometimes I over react, but I tend to be more productive because of the tension.

it depends really on what trait that's valuable at a workplace that you feel you need to work on improving. i remember, when i was asked that question in an interview, i told them that my greatest weakness is acting on impulse most of the time. this is very substantial at a work setting because i know that if i just jump to a decision without weighing the pros & cons first, i'm going to end up not just with a poorly made decision, but some bad reviews as well.

so yeah, i think for the next interview you're going to go to, this greatest weakness question is always a favorite of interviewers, so you might want to prep yourself before the interview and think about what you feel you really need to work on, be it interpersonal, decision making, technical, work ethics, or whatever skills you believe you must improve that can greatly help you out with whatever work you wish to do. and then after that, you can tell them wholeheartedly that you are intent on developing that weakness and you will make it an opportunity for you to become better and more learned.

and always, always, try to prep yourself for the next question: what's your greatest strength :)

good luck!

I can not even begin to answer this question for you. I do not know you and you could be the only one to really answer this question. Possibly if you drew a blank just maybe you do not have one weakness that is greater then the others or you're perfect.

I'm assuming you mean a job interview....
You should probably just be honest, but if you think it is really that bad, then perhaps you could go with another weakness that will not have as much affect on weather you obtain the job or not.......then again, you could always make something up....

Something that can also be seen as a good thing like I hate leaving something half finished and am not happy until it's finished.
Answering with something that can be seen in another way as a quality is what they're looking for with this question

Chocolate, I never refer to a weakness that would affect thier decision to hire me, and if I do I usually point out the fact that I'm ultra organized and that at times can be a weakness for me because one piece of paper is out of place, and I'm pissed.

Please do not say "I am a perfectionist" or "I am a workaholic". All hiring managers and all HR experts know this is BS.

For example you might say "My last job required overnight travel. I want to stay home with my wife and family, my last employer considered my unwillingness to travel a weakness".

I say I am too nice, I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, at least the first time.

Tell them it's that you are a perfectionist. You work too hard. ;-)
