I just married an American and came to the US as a legal immigrant. I do not speak any English. What kind of a job (only legal and honorable) can a Chinese lady find in the USA? Thanks for your suggestions.

I have several counts of Misdemeanor and got arrested 2x a year ago. Now im applying for a job and I dont know if I should take the risk or not because I already have another offer. The job i want is asking for a 2nd interview. If the employment application says " have you ever been convicted of a felony" I checked NO because I never have. But if they do a background check, will the misdemeanor effect my eligibility? please let me know I dont know if I should mention this issue to the CFO and HR manager and give it a try (since i didnt lie on my application) OR just save the embarressment and accept the other job offer. please help thanks!

I was employed at my last job for over 6 months. I never had any problems. I was never written up. I was all the sudden fired over a so-called anon. phone call. No notice no write ups. Can they legally do that?

He has a 5 yr old and a 2 yr old at home and just decided to quit his job and go to trucker school. Now he is gone all week and pops in on the weekends and takes off again.
Do you think he is planning on leaving his wife and kids, or is he just stupid?

I've been working with a female coworker who has become a nightmare! Several years ago, things were fine, we worked well together, and even hung out occasionally. Our jobs require the two of us to work together as a team. Things began to change for the worse about 1 1/2 years ago. Her partying got out of control with drinking/drugs during the week. She'd come into work hung over & not able to do the work. Our work environment is unsupervised and for a governmental agency. Her endless personal problems (resulting from her drinking) have her missing at least 2 days a week. When she's there, she takes extended lunches instead of the half hour we're given & leaves the office numerous times throughout the day for 15-20 min. On top of this, she refuses to admit she needs help & acts like "what's the problem?". I've complained to management so many times, they're tired of hearing it. They've taken some discipline steps but not enough to change anything. Anyone have suggestions?

My father has been a manager for this company for 21yrs and has an exemplary record, however due to 2 seperate incidents that happened at work my father was let go. He was never written up for either of these incidents, but he had to write up his employees that were in violation, and he did this. One week later he was terminated for safety violations. Is this wrongful termination?

I'm just starting out in the social work field and I'm finding that the jobs that are available right now are only paying $13 - $14/hour. I think that's appalling. How am I supposed to pay back my student loans on that? Is this typical across North America?
