Not at all. I want them there to answer any question I have, but not to come at me and try to force a sale.
If they are too pushy, I generally walk out on them.

Any overbearing retail sales person will not get my business. When I go to a store, leave me alone until I ask for help, case closed.

I think it's ok to approach someone if they are entering a store and ask them if they need help.... maybe direct them to some sales.... or if you see them looking at a particular item offer some advice. But I can't stand it when a sales person hounds you to try their amazing product, or breathes down your neck while you are trying to price, match qualities, and research the products on your own. Half the time people will ask if they need help... but if they look trouble or confused, a friendly smile and some help could be all you need to make a sale. Help is the key word... not PUSH!

Who would like anyone they come in contact with to be overbearing ? A simple " may I help you " and if the customer says " no " then blend into the woodwork.

Ha-Ha-Ha...... was it the movie
Pretty Woman that put this into perspective so masterfully?

They are the type that give the term 'salespeople' such a bad rap.

Who needs 'em , anyway?

I've seen both sides. I can't stand people who constantly ask me if I need help or if I have any questions. You've already asked me. I know you're doing your job, but please, back off.

At the same time, sometimes I won't ask for help if the salesperson is unfriendly. I hate asking for help only to get some bored or snide reply. It's your job, so get off your seat and help me!
