Do you mean writing your own book then selling it?

To be strictly honest, assume you will lose money doing so.

I have written 2 books. The first one a poetry book. Do not ever write a poetry book - I was told TOO Late that they are the worst sellers. The second one was a puzzle game book for Genesis (the Bible). Every person I showed it to loved it. The problem was ADVERTISING it. The book cost me less than $1 each to publish and yet was about 120 pages. The real problem was how to market/advertise it. There are NO real cheap ways to do it. Without the publishing/marketing power of these big book sellers you have no real chance. I even took my last book to Churches, they loved it but they were not allowed to buy it because everything had to come through their head office. :(

I don't want to burst your bubble, but sometimes you need to be hit with the real facts before you start spending your time and money on something that will only cause you pain and suffering. I went through a lot of that when I knew everyone would love my 2nd book. And they did, but I had no real way to advertise/market it and still keep the book cheap - I wanted to sell it for only $3/book.

Another option you have is to do an e-book. Then you don't have the expense of printing a book. But e-books are still in its infancy.

Good luck for whatever you decide to do.

Thanks!
