I was out of work for a while and it was awful. I was so broke and so bored. I hope you will find something soon. Just don't give up and start hanging out. That is the slow road to more unhappiness.

I'm unemployed now, but for different reasons. My husband and I relocated to another state and I've taken some time off just to get my bearings. I will be looking for a job soon. In the meantime I've discovered that I'm bored silly and make a lousy housewife!
Someone suggested that I get involved in some social activity or volunteer organization and start networking. You can keep your skills up (depending on the organization and your skills) and make some contacts. Everyone knows someone, and you'll be demonstrating your skills and meeting new people. It's something I'm going to try, and may work for you too.
Good luck!

After I left school in Denver to move back home I was out of school and work for about a month. I thought I was going to die of boredom. So, I hoped over to monster.com it is a very good website for jobbing or you could try jobbing.com although personally I wouldn't recommend that one, even though some people would disagree. In your spare time you probably should work on your resume. Also, the best thing to do is try not to think about it because that makes time go by slower and makes you more depressed.

Have you had your resume reviewed by a professional in your field? Also, you didn't state what the job market is like for your line of work in your area. Have you been getting interviews but no offers, or not even interviews? You should sit down and analyze where your job search is breaking down. Because you didn't pinpoint a particular area that you are experiencing problems in, it's tough for me to to give you more detailed suggestions. Good luck.

try a temp or hiring agency. it can be boring and frustrating not having a job. how do you live? how about you be creative and think of a small business idea. It may be more successfully than you think. there is lots of small business help out there. And if you are bored, this will take care of that, you can spend some of your time doing research for the business. good luck either way.

Yes, but what are you doing to get re-employed? Taking any self improvement courses, or where are you looking for a job? Network yourself. Most hirings are not through want ads, but from friends hearing from another friend that a position is available, or that you are available and know someone is looking for someone just like you!
Good luck, and don't lose hope, lose the helplessness and start looking!!

I have never been unemployed since I was twelve. There is work out there, but maybe your standards are too high. I have a great paying job now but still do side jobs. There are jobs out there.

Try going back to school and earning an advanced degree. It might just be the ticket to changing career fields and opening up new possibilities for yourself.
