I have gotten scammed on the interent serveral times. And I can't seem to find any "real" jobs. I know there are people that succesfully work at home for companies but I can't find the jobs out there. Please if any one has any information on this give me some information.

A friend of mine is afraid to quit her job, because her employer made her sign an agreement, saying that if she quit she would not get paid. Is this legal?

If your company insists that you wear E.S.D and toe protective shoes/boots, can you refuse to wear them if they are too tight.

Where would you stand if they made you wear them or faced disiplinary action?

I love my job and respect my boss alot. It came as a shock to me when he asked me to go on a trip with him and that we would be sharing the same suite. I am so disappointed. Help.

Being so close to Christmas & having a family, this has affected my health & I cannot sleep and have mood swings. I can be very angry at times which leads me to having frequent arguments with my wife. To make things worse, I have two small children of school age, and obviously got the usual expenses such as mortgage, car and the other regular house bills.

I am also feeling very depressed and have lost confidence in myself. After much persuasion from my wife, I visited my GP last week who prescribed me with some tablets to cure my depression.

Lastly, the way I was selected for redundancy seems to be rather unfair.

Can you tell me if I can take any action against the employer for unfair dismissal & the fact that it has affected my health.

Thanks

I am quitting my job and feel indebted to my boss.

My boss is very well connected in my industry and has presented me with many opportunities for career growth in the past. Much of my success is due to my boss' interest in my professional development. I can forsee many opportunities in the future as well.

Regardless, I have decided to leave and don't want to cause unnecessary stress for my current boss or coworkers.

My friend works at a finance firm, and he is in a cubicle all day long. He tells me that about 7 feet away from his desk is a HUGE printer that has a constant fan that runs all day long in it. He tells me after a few hours into the day, the sound starts to really annoy him, and the sound slighty hurts his ears. He told me he tries to ignore the fan, but, it's too prominent. He's afraid to ask the boss to shut it off becuase #1) the printer is used constantly by others and #2)it seems weird to ask for such a bizzare request. My buddy likes his spot/cubicle, but he doesn't enjoy the printer-fan noise.

Let's face it...being for an extended period of time near a machine that makes a noise is unnatural- but, this is HIS reality.

Any comments, suggestions, or advice that I can relay off to my friend? It is SO well appreciated, becuase I really want the best for him-- he is a really good person, and doesn't deserve to be suffering like this.Thanks.

My girlfriend's daughter ( who is 20) just got an offer from a modelling agency in Suburban NY . If she pays $375 , the agency will make a portfolio for her to be submitted to different ad companies. They told her that she has a good chance of getting a modeling job ( she is a "cute" but young looking, slightly short, fashionable blonde) Does this sound right? My girlfriend's family does not have a lot of money "to burn". Thanks.
