Wow. I never thought "good luck" or "take care" necessarily meant someone is implying someone else has a problem.

"Take care" is a kind of nice thing that people say just to be nice or friendly. "Good luck" is something people may say when they know they won't be talking to someone for a while and that someone is going to be doing something (from finding a new job to resolving some issue to trying to break a record in Guinness Book).

They're kind words, that's all. Don't assume the person is implying anything.

Absolutely not. Of course, could be I because I say it all the time myself, but when I say it, I'm trying to show that I care about them whether or not they have a problem. When I say "good luck" to someone on a trip, I'm hoping they won't have car problems, or food poisoning...and take care is well..."just take care of yourself" like watch out for potholes so you don't twist your ankle, or slam your hand in the door. Really, it's meant for best intentions, not because I think someone has a problem. Geez, doesn't everyone have problems???

I don't feel insulted unless the tone of voice suggests that they don't really wish me well or they don't think it would be possible for me to have any luck. Other than that, I see life as a series of challenges and if they misunderstand which parts of life are obstacles for me, it really doesn't matter.

I don't like it when someone says it snidely like they're subtly laughing at you, but if it's said in a genuine manner, I just smile and say thank you. It kinda feels good when people seem to actually care.

This does not imply a problem. It is a sincere wish for well-being.

Hell no I don't.

I like it when people wish me well or care enough to tell me their name and occasionally take the time to say my name in personal communications.

Yes and when someone says "Bless you" after I sneeze, I feel a homicidal rage coming on.
