I think you need to give us a bit more information than that. Put it this way, if you had offered me a job, which meant I quit my other one or stopped looking for other work, then you took it back, I would take you to more than just a tribunal. You need to explain the circumstances and your reasons for doing this.

Withdrawal from job offer is not a criminal offence. Just communicate your withdrawal to your employer and seek to follow the necessary procedure. I am sure he/she will accept.

I know with normal contracts, it is not consemated until the offer has been accepted. So if it has not yet been accepted, I would withdraw it now and get legal advice.

No i say you think ahead and take more time like one or two weeks , so it may benefit you (sometime you will be selected)
